May Day Northern Territory : First Monday in May

May Day in the Northern Territory occurs annually on the first Monday in May. May Day is a local public holiday. In most other states and territories this day is referred to as Labour Day. On this date people celebrate the improved economic and social conditions of workers in the Northern Territory and especially the achievement of a working day with a maximum of 8 hours.
