Because they are reserved and private, INFJs can be difficult to get to know. They place a high value on close, deep relationships and can be hurt easily—although they often hide these feelings from others.
As introverts, INFJs tend to keep to themselves a lot. They can be very approachable and enjoy talking to people, but when it comes to the more intimate parts of their personalities, they tend to keep it hidden. INFJs are extremely selective of the people they truly allow to see the INFJ for who they are.
They're tough to get to know
There's being reserved and then there's INFJ levels of secrecy. It's no surprise that as Introverts—who recharge by spending time alone—INFJs can be tough to get to know. In fact, INFJ personalities are talkative and bubbly, but only around people they trust and know well.
INFJs may be introverts, but few things are more important to them than strong, close relationships. They crave deep mental and emotional connections with others; proximity or just a few shared interests won't cut it.
INFJs are no exception to this rule, and when they become overly stressed they may display a dark side that includes angry outbursts, obsessive worrying, perfectionism, or even depression. When INFJs first encounter stress, they start to behave very true-to-type.
INFJ: Open-mindedness
INFJs seek someone who is open-minded and willing to explore different ways of looking at the world. That's what really turns them on.
Advocate (INFJ) Weaknesses. Sensitive to Criticism – Advocates aren't averse to feedback – that is, unless they believe that someone is challenging their most cherished principles or values. When it comes to the issues that are near and dear to them, people with this personality type can become defensive or dismissive.
Because INFJs are very careful about who they let into their life, not many people get the opportunity to be a part of an INFJ's life. INFJs are resistant to making friends because they often struggle with trust issues. This is another major contributor to why INFJs have little to no friends.
They tend to be gracious and friendly to people, and if they are confident, they may even have a gift for flirting and making eye contact. However, time and time again, INFJs have told me that they get uncomfortably awkward around their crushes.
INFJs have unique needs and expectations when it comes to romantic relationships and you may struggle to find someone who matches you intellectually and emotionally.
In some cases, you can't avoid people or completely ignore them. In times like that, an INFJ may talk to the person, but they'll be emotionless, distant and cold. Even the nicest people can't stand everything. Dealing with such a contradicting personality may be exhausting and maddening.
INTJ. INTJs win the award for the most secretive personality type. If you know an INTJ, then you will know why! They are naturally independent and private people, but they also can be very mysterious in the way that no one knows what is going on inside their brains.
INFPs and INFJs are commonly confused for one another due to their apparent commitment to sensitivity, forming deep relationships and helping others navigate the world. Though, while INFPs and INFJs may seem similar at first glance, these two personality types possess distinctions which set them apart.
INFJs never make the first move.
It's not completely impossible for an INFJ to make the first move, but it's highly unlikely for an INFJ to put themselves out there, especially with a stranger. Even when an INFJ knows that the other person is into them, they probably still won't make the first move.
Because they are often reserved, high-achieving individuals with high expectations of both themselves and others, INFJs can be intimidating to other personality types. Since INFJs are also the rarest personality type, many people misunderstand them.
Kindness. As sensitive personalities, INFJs feel attracted to people who show kindness towards others. Extraverted Feeling is their auxiliary function, which means INFJs try to connect in a gentle way, and appreciate those who can do the same. Most INFJs also strive to make a positive impact on the world.
INFJs' Two Favorite Love Languages
There are five different love languages: Words of Affirmation, Quality Time, Receiving Gifts, Acts of Service, or Physical Touch. From what I've seen online and the INFJs I've talked with, Quality Time and Words of Affirmation are the two most popular love languages for INFJs.
Women with the INFJ personality type
INFJ Females tend to be reserved, empathetic people. They are likely to value healthy structure and stability, while tending to remain open to new ideas and solutions. They often have a natural desire to help others and make moral choices.
INFJs are known for their strong insights about people and situations. They get these insights through the use of their dominant cognitive function, Introverted Intuition. They also are extremely aware of people's emotions and moods.
Crowds, noise, frequent interruptions - INFJs need their personal space and may experience great anxiety if they have too much contact with people in one day. Faced with such provocations, there's a risk that you will spread yourself so thin responding to other people's problems that you neglect your own needs.
INFJs can appear very awkward when their intuition kicks in and they start reading into a situation. For instance, if someone is being sweeter to the boss than usual, you may infer that they are doing it to get ahead at work.
INFJs make up only 1% of the population. That means that you have a very small chance of meeting another like-minded individual in the world. This also means that 99 out of 100 people you meet are likely to see the world in a different way than you do.
INFJs Are Empathic
They are highly empathic individuals who are attuned to the emotions and needs of others. This can make them vulnerable to being taken advantage of, as they may be too quick to trust others and too willing to overlook red flags.
In communication INFJs come across as thoughtful, supportive, and caring. Communication with an INFJ is pleasant and easy, since they are inherently well-disposed towards the other party. They are attentive and empathetic to other people's feelings.
