Searching for emails older than 10 years: Type "10 years" in the From: field, followed by hitting enter. Then select Search Messages Older Than from the menu bar above. Type the before date in YYYY/MM/DD format.

Check Gmail Archived Email Folder
Gmail has a single Archive folder that's designed to be a collection of all your Gmail email. Regardless of whether it's inside your Inbox or tied to Gmail labels, the archive folder will house EVERYTHING. If you're missing an email, look in the archive folder in Gmail.

It's possible that someone logged in and deleted or moved your emails or that your email filters have moved them. Check your other folders, especially Spam and Trash.

Are you using Apple Mail app or Google Gmail app? Should be the former, try to delete your gmail account on your iPhone, restart your device, then re-add your email account and wait for it to repopulate.
Restore data.
