To most people, loneliness is not a word that meshes with introversion. Everyone knows that introverts value their alone time almost more than anything else.
What Is an Introvert? An introvert is a person with qualities of a personality type known as introversion, which means that they feel more comfortable focusing on their inner thoughts and ideas, rather than what's happening externally.
Introverts can be perfectly happy on their own, or terribly lonely in a crowd. A lot of the time, introverts need solitude and quiet to recharge themselves. This can make it harder for them to create and maintain social connections, and there can be a point where “alone” becomes “lonely”.
They are gentle and easy-going.
Are introverts attractive? Yes, and their gentle personality is one of those reasons. Introverts appeal to people because they're easy to be around. Even though it's a common misconception that they're stuck up, their aura is indeed welcoming.
While it's true that both types of personality can experience problems with their mental health, it's widely accepted and proven that introverts are more susceptible to depression than many other personality types.
Quiet people tend to be good communicators, and they're not afraid to ask others for help. They're also good at getting input from others, and they don't overwork themselves. Quiet leaders think before they speak, they listen, they observe, they act, they act strategically.
Shy people don't think they're more important than others
But it is a trait that most of us find very likable and attractive in others. In fact, psychologists have consistently found that both men and women rate humility as one of the most desirable traits in a partner.
It Comes Down To Personal Preference. Ultimately, it depends entirely on the man in question. Studies show that introverted or shy men are likely to be attracted to both shy and outgoing women, while extroverted men may have a preference for outgoing women.
Because of all those society-imposed role models, people who are quiet often feel not good enough. They are not assertive, outgoing, and dynamic enough. In reality, though, nothing is wrong with being a quiet person. Introversion is an innate personality trait that doesn't need to be fixed or changed.
Their objectivity and the ability to be less likely to be affected by certain emotional cues make an introvert to appear intimidating to other people and make them likely to be manipulated or swayed.
Angry Introverts are in a sensitive state, and they can easily become overstimulated by too much social contact. Interestingly, Introverts won't usually respond to their anger by leaving altogether.
Introverts Don't Have Low Self Esteem
Another common misconception about introverts is that they are quiet and reserved because they have low self-esteem or lack self-confidence.
With all of the constant noise you hear on a day-to-day basis, embracing silence can help stimulate your brain and help you process information. It can also help you become more self-aware and relieve stress. Embracing silence may also help you settle into the present moment and quiet any racing thoughts.
In fact, it has been found [83] that people who present themselves as reserved, silent, and withdrawn, are prone to demonstrate lower self-esteem. They are also less concerned with self-promotion.
And researchers have found 70% of introverts also are highly sensitive people. HSPs for short.
Extreme feelings of shyness are often a sign of an anxiety condition called social phobia. People with social phobia often need the help of a therapist to overcome extreme shyness. Someone with social phobia — or extreme shyness — can overcome it! It takes time, patience, courage, and practice.
They like being on their own and thus make sure to take care of themselves. They are also the only people who know themselves extremely well and that works in their benefit. Since their lives are not very flamboyant, it's easy to be around them and ease into the relationship. Introverts are extremely loyal by nature.
Make eye contact with him.
Make eye contact and smile. This is a subtle way to show your interest while also leaving the ball in his court to chase you (A.K.A. to come over and talk to you!). It can also help him feel more comfortable around you, which is a great help if he's shy.
When a woman goes silent, it can mean that she is either trying to think through it or trying to be strong for herself and having been used to how you made her feel awesome when you hurt her feelings. She may tend to withdraw and the only way she would not want to hurt herself more is to go silent on you.
Introverts are loyal and devoted friends.
People are attracted to loyal and devoted people. While introverts may not always realize it, this is a trait most people find attractive in them. Their loyalty isn't just attractive to the recipients of that devotion, but to anyone who observes them.
Quiet people are more sensitive to the world around them than others. They notice things that other people don't and are more likely to be aware of their surroundings. They also tend to notice small details, which helps them understand other people better and make better decisions in life.
Being an introvert doesn't necessarily mean you're socially awkward, but the two do sometimes overlap. Certainly, as in my case, the fear of feeling anxious and awkward in social settings can cause us to lean into our introversion.
