In 1937, Walt Disney Productions released its first animated feature-length film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The dark and twisted fairy tale from Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm introduced millions to a sweet, demure, and tidy Snow White. And now, we get to meet her sister — Rose Red.

Rose Red appears in the Brothers Grimm's 17th century fairy tale Snow-White and Rose-Red, with her and her sister both depicted as demure in nature, but is absent from the German authors' unrelated 1812 story Snow White, on which Disney's animated film is based and which features a different heroine.
