Aren't our bodies clean after showering? It turns out, people aren't as clean as they feel after showering. Sure, soap and hot water go a long way. They scrub the body of a lot of dirt and germs.
Do bath towels really ever get dirty? Most towels are made of 100 percent cotton. While it's true that after a shower you have eliminated most of the germs and dirt from your skin, the process of rubbing a towel against the body rubs off dead skin that sticks to the moist towel.

Towels can turn yellow over time, depending on the frequency of use. Factors such as the sauce contaminated from your hands while cooking in the kitchen, sweat from your face or skin, dead skin spilled from the skin, oil on the skin or hair play a big role in the yellowing of the towels.
"Cottons and the like can be washed in the extra hot temperatures using the sanitize cycle on your washer—but you want to be careful with other items that can't handle those high temperatures (think elastics, spandex, wools, etc.)," says Johnson. Check the care label on clothing or towels before you sanitize them.
Drinking your shower water is not a good idea. Hot shower water can contain bacteria and harmful chemicals, and if you drink this bacteria, it could make you sick. Even if you have a shower filter, you should avoid drinking shower water.
Don't take a bath every day: Daily baths can dry out your skin by ridding your body of its natural oils. Try for baths no more than twice a week. Shower between bath days. Use warm (not hot) water: Some people may experience dizziness or weakness when the temperature is too hot.

If you feel better with a daily showering routine, go for it. If you would rather skip some days, that's OK, but never go more than two or three days without washing your body with soap.
