M - suitable for mature audiences 16 years of age and over.
Films and computer games classified M (Mature) contain content of a moderate impact. M-rated films and computer games are not recommended for children under the age of 15. They include portrayals of elements such as violence and themes that require a mature outlook.
M means that anyone can view the film but it is more suitable for mature audiences 16 years and over. R13 means that the film is restricted to persons who have obtained the age of 13 years or over. R18 means that the film is restricted to persons who have obtained the age of 18 years or over.
New Zealand's M rating is an OFLC-mandated classification used in New Zealand to state that a movie is suitable for persons aged 16 and over, but anyone is still allowed entry without an adult.
Mature (M) - Not recommended for children under 15.
The content is moderate in impact. Equivalent to PG-13 for movies, T for video games and low TV-14 for television.
PG-13: Parents Strongly Cautioned, Some Material May Be Inappropriate for Children Under 13. This rating is a stronger caution for parents that content included may not be appropriate for children under 13 (pre-teen ages). This may include stronger language, extended violence or sexual situations and drug-use.
According to the Motion Picture Association, the PG-13 label means the movie is fine for kids over the age of thirteen. It may not, however, be appropriate for children under thirteen because of language, violence, nudity, and other mature content.

M films are recommended for people aged 15 or older. A person needs to be 15 or older to see an MA 15+ film. The content is strong and unsuitable for people aged under 15. However people under 15 can see an MA 15+ film if accompanied by their parent or an adult guardian.
Rated G: Suggested for general audiences. Rated M: Suggested for mature audiences - Parental discretion advised. Rated R: Restricted – Persons under 16 not admitted, unless accompanied by parent or adult guardian. Rated X: Persons under 16 not admitted.
Titles rated M (Mature) have content that may be suitable for persons ages 17 and older. Titles in this category may contain intense violence, blood and gore, sexual content, and/or strong language.
R: Restricted - Under 17 requires accompanying parent or guardian. Children under 17 are not allowed to attend R-rated movies unless accompanied by a parent or legal guardian 25 years of age or older.
Films classified 12A and video works classified 12 contain material that is not generally suitable for children aged under 12. No one younger than 12 may see a 12A film in a cinema unless accompanied by an adult.
Our staff are legally required to ask for proof that you are old enough to watch an age restricted film if they have any doubt. In order to prove your age we require official I.D. that includes a photo and date of birth such as a passport or driver's license. (We accept photocopies of passports.
The show is officially rated TV-MA, or not necessarily suitable for kids 17 and under. Again, you know your child and what they can handle best, but just like with R-rated movies, there's a lot to consider about what your child will see and think while watching a thriller like this.

The Film and Video Labelling Body will often assign ratings to restricted films. M is given to films and games that can be shown to anyone but are more suitable for mature audiences.
So, while the Harry Potter films are based on children's books, the films require some parental guidance in case there are children in the audience who might be disturbed or confused by some of the scenes they see.
General viewing, but some scenes may be unsuitable for young children. A PG film should not unsettle a child aged around eight or older. Unaccompanied children of any age may watch, but parents are advised to consider whether the content may upset younger, or more sensitive, children.
Understand the movie rating system.
The R rating means that children under 17 years are not admitted to the theater without a parent.
Wednesday Age Rating
Wednesday is rated TV-14 for violence, fear, and profanity, which means it may not be suitable for children under 14 years old.
