Parents: According to the ESRB this game is rated M and contains Blood, Intense Violence, Sexual Themes, Strong Language, and Use of Alcohol. No kids, please.
The ESRB has rated Yakuza: Like a Dragon M for Mature and the reasoning behind it consists of "violent acts," "bloody effects," and explicit swearing.
Cutscenes depict intense acts of violence: characters shot in the head; a bound man tortured with a sledgehammer; a character impaled by spikes. The game contains some sexual content: men groping women's breasts in a night club; a man guiding a woman's hand over his crotch.
However, Yakuza: Kiwami does give you an option to tone down the violence somewhat, if you prefer - via Settings on the main menu, or via Save/Settings from within the game, you can switch the 'Gore Level' from Normal to Mild.
A Great game but not for kids!
The game is set in 80s Japan during the bubble economy - which means that the backdrop is a time of sex, booze and gangsters. Which should be enough to keep kids away from the title.

While this could be one of the best of the Yakuza games, it full of violence and swearing, the fights are mostly tame however the heat action moves could range from enemies having their heads pushed into wall or being crushed by bicycles.
There's plenty of violence as a result, complete with lots of brutality and blood. The game also features a substantial amount of other mature content, including frequent use of strong profanity and lots of sexual content.
While the games certainly don't shy away from the violence and crime that is part of the Yakuza world, they also focus on the human stories behind those events. They even deal with themes like loyalty, betrayal, and redemption, and all of this makes for a series that is about more than just crime.

Why You Should Play Yakuza 0 First. For the most part, mainline Yakuza games are released in chronological order. Yakuza takes place before Yakuza 2, and so on. Remakes aside, Yakuza 0 is the only game that breaks from that tradition, much to the benefit of newcomers.
Most Yakuza fans agree that Yakuza 6 had one of the saddest stories in the series. The Song of Life is far more depressing than any other game in the series because it's the last entry with the beloved Kazuma Kiryu as the protagonist and the tragic tales of many in-game characters.
Banned in Korea: The game was suddenly cancelled a day before its planned release in South Korea. The only information given behind the cancellation was that the game included sensitive topics, leading to all kinds of speculation since previous games had been released in the region without issue.
