Every person's blood has certain characteristics. If a baby's and mother's blood are incompatible, it can lead to fetal anemia, immune hydrops (erythroblastosis fetalis) and other complications. The most common type of blood type incompatibility is Rh disease (also known as Rh incompatibility).
When a mother-to-be and father-to-be are not both positive or negative for Rh factor, it's called Rh incompatibility. For example: If a woman who is Rh negative and a man who is Rh positive conceive a baby, the fetus may have Rh-positive blood, inherited from the father.
So, having a baby with someone with the same blood type can inflate their offspring's chances of inheriting some traits, such as depression, which has been shown to be significantly higher in the type A and O blood types.
Two O parents will get an O child nearly all of the time.
So, the progeny formed if both parents are of O blood group is O. The Rh factor can be positive in heterozygous state and also in homozygous state. So, there can be possibility of being both Rh positive and Rh negative.
AB negative is the rarest of the eight main blood types - just 1% of our donors have it. Despite being rare, demand for AB negative blood is low and we don't struggle to find donors with AB negative blood. However, some blood types are both rare and in demand.
The Rh-negative blood type can pose risks during pregnancy, including increasing the risk of miscarriage or stillbirth in the second or third trimester. Nowadays, women with a negative blood group are preventively given the Rho GAM injection, to reduce the risk involved.
A baby may have the blood type and Rh factor of either parent, or a combination of both parents. Rh factors follow a common pattern of genetic inheritance. The Rh-positive gene is dominant (stronger) and even when paired with an Rh-negative gene, the positive gene takes over.
No problem: If you are both the same blood type then it should not be a problem. The problem arises if there is difference in the Rh blood group. For example if you are Rh+ and she is Rh -, she may have a baby with Rh+ type.
If the father is also typed, its compatibility with the mother can be determined accordingly. The only blood group whose members cannot marry each other is AB. They can only marry D carriers. It is important to note that compatibility has nothing to do with immunity.
A woman's blood group could influence her chances of getting pregnant, scientists have found. Those with blood type O may struggle to conceive due to a lower egg count and poorer egg quality, while those with blood group A seem to be more fertile.

Before I delve into the science, let me quickly stop any tongues that might be wagging if you are asking about a paternity debate: Yes, two O-positive parents could have any number of O-negative children. In fact, according to the experts, most children who are O-negative have parents who are O-positive.
If both parents have Rh+ blood with the +- genes, they could have children who are ++, +-, or –. In other words, their children could be either Rh positive or Rh negative. Most children who are O negative have parents who are positive since the +- combination is so much more common than the — combination.
People with type O blood will react against type A, type B, or type AB blood. People with type AB blood will not react against type A, type B, type AB, or type O blood.
It is important to note that being Rh-negative in and of itself does not cause miscarriage or pregnancy loss. You are only at risk if you have been sensitized. The risk is very small if you have the recommended RhoGAM shots during pregnancy, or after an ectopic pregnancy, pregnancy loss, or induced abortion.
O negative blood is valuable because it can be transfused to anyone, regardless of their blood type.
