While the recovery timeline can vary from patient to patient, most people are generally able to resume front or side-sleeping after 2 – 4 weeks.

Sleeping on your side or front after facelift surgery can increase your risk of complications, including pulling out sutures and delaying the healing process. Fortunately, even patients who typically sleep on their sides find back-sleeping to be the most comfortable sleeping position after facelift surgery.

Why? Keeping your head elevated minimizes post-op swelling and discomfort, prevents strain to incision sites, and can even help you feel ready to go out in public a little more quickly.
Surgeons often recommend sleeping on your back while recovering from a tummy tuck, but you may be able to sleep on your side a few weeks after surgery.
The reason why you can't sleep on your side after a tummy tuck is that it creates too much tension in the surgical area and can be painful. Sleeping on your side after 3 or 5 weeks after the tummy tuck is even better. In addition to sleeping in the right position, it is also important to ensure a comfortable recovery.

I tell my patients they can begin to turn onto their side a little bit at three weeks just to relieve the strain on their back. If this is comfortable and they have no trouble with it, then they can gradually do a little more and can finally sleep fully on their side at four to six weeks.
If you sleep on your side, the lower nostril will likely become plugged while you sleep, and since you can't blow your nose, this congestion can be uncomfortable. Sleeping on your back in an elevated position is the best-case scenario for post-rhinoplasty sleep.
Sleep is very important
The importance of rest after surgery is stressed by doctors because your body is going to do a lot of healing while sleeping. After all, your body does the majority of its healing while you're asleep. It's important that you're able to take a nap whenever you need to.
Sleeping on your side or stomach is not recommended for several weeks after the procedure because it places unnecessary pressure on your nose. Resting on your back in an elevated position cuts down on congestion and minimizes swelling after rhinoplasty surgery.
You should rest with your head elevated in a recliner or with at least 2 pillows for at least the first week after surgery. Try not to sleep on the side of your face but rather sleep with the back of your head on the pillow for about two weeks.
On average, patients should plan to spend about 2 – 3 weeks sleeping with their head propped up after facelift surgery, though this can vary based on the nature and extent of the procedure.
Sleeping on a favoured side can weaken the area where the skin naturally folds making them deeper on that side. Poor Posture and resting your face on your hand have been attributed to facial asymmetries. Sun damage & smoking have effects on the elastin, collagen and pigmentation, which can be attributed to asymmetry.

By the end of the first week of surgery you should be standing up straight. At that time you can lay flat on your back or side sleep.
The best sleeping position after tummy tuck surgery is on your back with your upper body elevated to create a slight bend or angle. Using pillows or sleeping in a recliner is ideal to achieve this position.
Getting out of bed
Roll onto your side. Dangle your feet over the edge of your bed. Use your elbows to raise your upper body. Use your legs to pull yourself into a sitting position.
Most wounds heal within 2 weeks in healthy children and adults. Healing may take longer if you have a condition like diabetes, you are a smoker, you are taking drugs (such as steroids or chemotherapy), or you have a weakened immune system.
Fatigue is normal following surgery and it should improve day after day as your body begins to heal itself. In general, it takes one week per day in the hospital to feel back to normal.

After surgery, you may need to recover for two to three weeks or longer, depending on the procedure. Even if you start to feel better, don't jump back into your old activities at your former pace. Follow your healthcare team's advice for how long you need to take it easy.
Answer: Sleep on Side After Rhinoplasty
It takes six weeks until the bones have healed completely post rhinoplasty.
You'll need to sleep in an elevated position for at least one week, however, it's generally recommended that you wait around 10-14 days before returning to your regular sleeping positions.
I recommend sleeping on your back after your rhinoplasty or revision rhinoplasty. During your recovery, your nose will be delicate and malleable, so it is important not to sleep on your stomach or side, which can put pressure on your nose. This will not only cause discomfort but may also compromise your results.
You should bear in mind that you won't be able to lift yourself into a completely upright position immediately after one week. Rather, straightening after tummy tuck is a slow and gradual process, with most patients recovering their straightened posture in 2-3 weeks.
If you have a “mini tummy tuck” with a smaller incision, you'll likely need between one and three weeks of elevated sleeping. On the other hand, full-tummy tuck patients require about four weeks, with six weeks of limiting any strenuous exercise or lifting.
Bed rest is recommended for the first 2 days after your tummy tuck procedure. On day 3, activity is encouraged but should be limited.
