(If the bandage begins to leak, you must remove the bandage and follow the standard aftercare instructions listed below).
What should I do if the Second Skin peels off before time? If the Second Skin starts peeling or peels off straightaway after the application, don't panic. Just remove it, clean the tattoo and reapply. You can also peel it off, clean the area and continua with the normal after care.
If for some reason your second skin comes off after a day or so do not rewrap, please keep your tattoo clean and moisturised. Do not wear tight clothes, do wash and clean and apply aftercare balm as advised. Once your fresh tattoo is exposed, it will have a higher chance of infection.
Removing Saniderm on your tattoo is an important step in the healing and care process. It should only be done once a few days have passed, or when the bandage begins to feel stiff and tight on your skin, as part of your tattoo care process.
If the Saniderm begins coming off, do not stick it back down, instead remove the plastic early. Additionally, the Saniderm will accrue body fluids and ink under the wrap, your tattoo is not falling out or staining your skin. However, if you notice water under the wrap, then it also must come off early.
Your first piece of Saniderm applied by the artist must be worn for 24 hours, do not remove it early.
Your tattoo is vulnerable when you just peel off the second skin. It is a large open wound with very thin to zero protective layer on.
During the first 24 hours, there may be some build-up of plasma under the bandage. This is completely normal! Once 24 hours has passed, you will need to remove the wrap and replace it with a fresh Second Skin bandage which you keep on for an additional 4 to 6 days.
Remove the bandage after 2 to 3 hours unless SecondSkin is used –keep SecondSkin on for 2-3 DAYS. Wash the tattoo area with lukewarm water and gentle soap. Pat dry with a clean paper towel. Apply a thin layer of Cetaphil lotion or Aquaphor.

This new layer you should keep for 3 to 5 days for the best results. If fluid continues to build up in significant amounts after the second application, you may remove and reapply a film once more. As mentioned, the second skin is waterproof so you can shower without worrying about your tattoo.

If the wrap begins to peel up, you can use surgical tape to keep it down, but if the tattoo is exposed, you will need to reapply Tegaderm (preferred), or switch to Conventional Aftercare - picking up on the day that the wrap came off. 5. Allow the wrap to stay applied for 3-7 days straight, the longer the better.
If you find the tattoo weeps into the second piece, remove it at the next 24 hour period. Then wash the tattoo, apply aftercare if needed, and apply a third piece. This third piece can be worn for up to 5 days. Saniderm should not be worn for more than 7 days total.
SECOND - SKIN
It's water resistant, so you can shower with it, but avoid prolonged water exposure. Wear loose clothing too if you can, to avoid abrasion to the area. While you're wearing the second-skin, you might notice the surface underneath accumulating slight moisture, which can make the tattoo look blurry.

DAY 1 ( SANIDERM):
If your artist bandaged your tattoo with a clear adhesive film like SANIDERM or TEGADERM, you can leave the film for up to 3 days. There may be a lot of fluid that builds up in the film and that's okay as long as nothing leaks in or out of the film.
Regardless of how much fluid you see in your Saniderm, you should always change the initial film at the 24-hour mark. Your remaining pieces of Saniderm can be left on for up to six days—which gives you a full week of healing. In some cases, you may find you only need one additional piece of Saniderm.
Tattoo Aftercare Instructions. Leave your Saniderm on for four full days after getting your tattoo. It is waterproof, so go ahead and shower as usual - however, please don't tempt fate with a bath or soaking. Its normal for your saniderm to fill with plasma, ink and blood.
