These models have a rating of IP68 under IEC standard 60529 (maximum depth of 2 metres up to 30 minutes): iPhone 11. iPhone XS.
What this means is that the iPhone 11 is almost wholly resistant to dust and dirt and can withstand submersion in water up to 1.5 meters (about five feet) in depth for about half an hour.
If your iPhone has been exposed to liquid, unplug all cables and do not charge your device until it's completely dry. Using accessories or charging when wet may damage your iPhone. Allow at least five hours before charging with a Lightning cable or connecting a Lightning accessory.
