Find My is the only way that you can track or locate a lost or missing device. There is no other Apple service that can find, track or otherwise flag your device for you. To find your AirPods, you'll need to set up Find My with your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch that you use with your AirPods.
That said, anyone can easily use stolen AirPods when they find them. Unfortunately, Apple Warranty or AppleCare+ do not cover lost and stolen AirPods. So, to replace missing AirPods, you will need to purchase a new pair from Apple. However, you don't need to buy a new pair just yet!
This could be an AirTag, AirPods, AirPods Pro, AirPods Max, or a Find My network accessory from manufacturers other than Apple. It's possible that the AirTag or Find My network accessory might be attached to an item you're borrowing, or you might get this alert if you're borrowing someone else's AirPods.
Go to Settings > Bluetooth. Or go to Settings > [your AirPods]. If your AirPods appear there as connected, tap the More Info button next to your AirPods, tap Forget This Device, then tap again to confirm.
Hello ~ The best thing to do is turn them in to your local law enforcement department. The owners are most likely to check there.
If your device is lost or stolen, you can turn on Lost Mode for your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Apple Watch, or lock your Mac. In iOS 15.0. 1 or later, you can mark supported AirPods as lost if you turned on the Find My network.
If you misplace your AirPods (3rd generation), AirPods Pro (1st generation), or AirPods Max, you can mark your AirPods as lost and create a message that provides your contact information.
While the police cannot track your stolen AirPods, you can by using the “Find My” app and can then share the location with the police.
"Track" the AirPods? If they're lost, then the distance from you doesn't matter. If you mean how far they can be from the device used to supply their signal, then that is the standard Bluetooth distance which is about 40 feet (10 meters).
Unfortunately, the answer is No. You cannot track your AirPods Pro once reset. Although Apple introduced the 'Find My AirPods' feature, it won't work when someone steals and resets your AirPods Pro. Not only AirPods Pro but all other AirPods also cannot be tracked after being reset.
Lost Mode lets you lock your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, or Apple Watch so that others can't access your personal information. You can turn on Lost Mode in Find Devices on iCloud.com.
The original (or previous) owner needs to open the Find My app on their iPhone or iPad. Choose the bottom Devices tab > choose the AirPods. Swipe to the bottom > Remove This Device.
Well, if the thief has an iPhone, iPad, or Mac, they can easily reset the product and make it their own. Unfortunately, there's no way you can block your lost or stolen AirPods from getting used by another person. The AirPods do not connect to Wi-Fi, which means you cannot remotely control them or lock them.
In conclusion, it is technically possible for someone to remotely hack an iPhone, but it is highly unlikely to happen to most users. The expensive software and specialized techniques required for remote hacking make it a viable option only for high-value targets.
Mark as Lost
When you mark your device as lost, you remotely lock it with a passcode, keeping your information secure. This also disables Apple Pay on the missing device. And you can display a custom message with your contact information on the missing device.
From there, a thief could use the passcode to change the device's Apple ID, turn off "Find my iPhone" so their location can't be tracked, and then reset the recovery key, a complex 28-digit code intended to protect its owners from online hackers.
If someone gets your phone and is able to unlock it, your personal data, such as Apple Pay and health data, is up for grabs. That's why it's important to erase your iPhone as soon as you suspect it has been stolen.
Find My Device can be turned off on Android by going to Settings > Security & privacy > Find My Device, and toggling Use Find My Device off. Additionally, you can turn off Location Services by going to Settings > Location, and toggling off Use location.
AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss covers You for repair or replacement of Your device in the event of Theft or Loss, Accidental Damage or Battery Depletion and access to Technical Support from Apple (as set out in clause 4.5). The Policy is sold by Apple and Apple Authorised Resellers.
If you believe your phone has been stolen, file a police report. Although law enforcement agencies don't have the resources to investigate every case of a stolen phone, if you're able to tell them where your phone is (using a finder app), they will be more likely to be able to help you recover it.
