Thor could somewhat easily beat Wanda Maximoff, the Scarlet Witch, in a fight, and this is exactly how he would do it.
Thor's immense strength, combat prowess, control over lightning, and enchanted hammer, Mjolnir, make him a formidable opponent against Scarlet Witch. In Avengers: Age of Ultron, he demonstrated his ability to resist her reality-warping powers and even physically overpower her.
But after the release of WandaVision and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, it's pretty clear that the Scarlet Witch is among the most powerful. Wanda Maximoff has never truly been defeated, only "losing" to the combined forces of Doctor Strange, Wong, and America Chavez after realizing the error in her ways.
However, Odin and Mjolnir may still have the last laugh since, by negating the spell, the Scarlet Witch could potentially remove the hammer's ability to grant its wielders Thor's power. So, while she could technically lift Mjolnir, Wanda might just end up turning Thor's mighty hammer into an extra-heavy paperweight!
Wanda's hexes are no match for Thor's raw strength or his own magic, but with enough prep time to conjure the proper spell, Wanda could make Thor temporarily unworthy of Mjolnir by manipulating his memories or history. Without Mjolnir's power, Thor is significantly weakened and therefore much more vulnerable.
Comment from discussion MC_Trouty's comment from discussion "Strange Supreme is stronger than the Scarlet Witch when you look at the fight.". There is the advantage of him being animated, which makes his powers as strong as the human imagination.
Spider-Man Can Beat Scarlet Witch Using A Classic Move
If Scarlet Witch can't use her devastating Hex powers while her eyes are covered, then there is one hero who is the perfect person to call for such a task: Spider-Man.
As the only Avenger that proved capable of single-handedly defeating him, Wanda ranks easily as one of the most powerful Avengers.
Thor could beat Wanda in an arm wrestling contest, but Thor is still susceptible to Wanda's mind powers. And we've seen that before, in Avengers: Age of Ultron. In the movie, Thor literally brags about how mighty he is, only to find himself stepping into Wanda's illusion and getting psyched out from it.
If it came down to it and Odin saw Scarlett Witch as a threat to the Universe and Multiverse and decided to try and take her down, who would win? Odin. Odin could probably kill her but not in a strait up fight.
Wanda was still a formidable adversary, capable of tipping the scales in favor of Ultron (James Spader) or the Avengers, depending on who she was helping. Still, without her Chaos Magic from Marvel Comics, Wanda was not more powerful than Thor or Hulk.
But in their brief skirmish, Thanos got the upper hand, thanks to the Infinity Gauntlet. Another prime candidate was Elizabeth Olsen's Wanda Maximoff, which became obvious when she crushed Thanos with his armor.
Wanda is literally the only avenger (maybe after Thor not being fat) that can kill Thanos easily even with the stones.
Wanda Maximoff, a.k.a. Scarlet Witch (played by Elzabeth Olsen), has grown to be a powerful part of the Avengers. In fact, she is so strong that she can either rewrite reality or wipe out a whole army of evil bots.
Elizabeth Olsen, the woman behind Wanda Maximoff, aka the Scarlet Witch, has reflected on her character's journey in the Marvel Cinematic Universe—having all started thanks to her hate of Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark.
The Scarlet Witch's most powerful enemies include Professor X and Doctor Strange, who she could fight in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The Scarlet Witch counts some of the greatest Marvel Comics supervillains among her most powerful enemies, including Doctor Doom and Ultron.
The Verdict: Scarlet Witch Is Stronger Than Captain Marvel
That said, Wanda has an edge due to Chaos Magic and her reality-warping abilities. Her telekinesis alone could nearly kill Thanos faster than Carol's punches.
Scarlet Witch is indeed powerful and has overpowered magical abilities that make her a threat in both the comics and the MCU. But the thing is that Dark Phoenix is a threat to the entire universe as her powers are cosmic-level. In that regard, it is easy to see why Dark Phoenix is the more powerful character.
And Mathaudhu can cite documentary sources to back him up. For example, Marvel – which publishes the Thor comics – issued a “Thor's Hammer” trading card in 1991 that states Mjolnir is made of Uru and weighs precisely 42.3 pounds. That's lighter than a herd of 300 billion mice, much less a herd of 300 billion elephants.
Venom (2020)
During this battle, Venom (Eddie Brock) was given the powers of Captain Universe, and was able to wield the hammer. However, Venom took this advantage a step further by merging Mjolnir with the Silver Surfer's surfboard to create an even greater weapon.
The fact that Thor doesn't have to think about risking his life to save Sif or Freyja shows that doing so is a reflection of who he has become—and that person (or god) can truly be said to be worthy.
Wanda can do the same with Kal-El. Seeing that the Sun is the source of all his strength, it's only a matter of how she chooses to depower him. Even without her reality-bending powers, her chaotic magic works against him. With magic as his weakness, her attacks will more than damage him.
