While twins of the nonidentical kind can't become conjoined, they can become something called chimeras. This is where fraternal twins fuse together very early on in development. The end result is not two separate, connected people but one person with a mix of both twins.
Chimerism is a phenomenon in which an individual has cells with different genetic content from different zygotes. In dizygotic twins (DTs), chimerism is believed to occur through placental anastomoses that enable the bidirectional exchange of hematopoietic stem cells.
Chimerism occurs when fraternal twins fuse in the womb. “If identical twins fuse, it's not a chimera because they have the same genome,” Pappas said. When the two sperm fertilize the two eggs, it results in two single-cell organisms (zygotes), which then divide and grow into embryos.

What happens when one twin absorbs another? The vanishing twin's tissue gets absorbed by the surviving embryo(s) and the parent, too. This absorption process is completely harmless.

A hermaphrodite chimera is a variant of a tetragametic chimera where a female embryo is merged with a male embryo, and the resultant chimera will have both male and female specific markers in their body. To a greater or lesser degree, they will also possess ambiguous genitalia.
Conjoined twins are two babies who are born physically connected to each other. Conjoined twins develop when an early embryo only partially separates to form two individuals. Although two babies develop from this embryo, they remain physically connected — most often at the chest, abdomen or pelvis.
