Yep! You really can make hard boiled eggs in your air fryer, and the process couldn't be any easier. It's as simple as placing your eggs in the basket, air frying at 135ºC for 15 minutes, and then soaking them in an ice bath. THAT'S IT.
Simply place your eggs in the air fryer basket. Set your temperature to 120 degrees and cook time for approx 15 minutes. I set mine for 17 minutes as I find it gives me the perfect yolk consistency. Once finished place your eggs in cold water and let sit for a few minutes.
All you have to do is place the eggs in the fryer basket - with no water - and cook them at 150C for your desired yolk finish.
Place eggs (4 eggs) gently into the air fryer basket. Cook at 120°C (see recipes notes for cooking times). Use a large spoon to lift the eggs out of the basket and transfer to a bowl of cold water for 2 minutes. For soft and medium eggs, place into egg cups, chop off tops and serve.
Preheat your air fryer to 300 degrees F. Once preheated, add in your eggs and close the lid. Air fry for 7-8 minutes (mine are good at 7 minutes) for a hard boiled egg. After 7 minutes, remove the eggs carefully from the basket (it will be hot) and add them into an ice bath and let them stand for 10 minutes.
For one, it takes time to heat up water, and then add your egg carefully so it doesn't crack when it hits the bottom of the pot. By comparison, simply placing your egg at the bottom of an air fryer basket can be done without splashing your hand with hot water, so cracking is less likely.
Add the eggs to the basket of your air fryer, and leave some space between them so that there is room for the hot air to circulate. Cook according to how well done you want your eggs (starting at 8 minutes for runny, up to 15 minutes for hard-boiled).
However, it's pretty tempting to throw aluminum foil in there to catch any drips and make clean-up even easier, but is that allowed? The short answer is yes, you can put aluminum foil in the air fryer.
I just take some room temperature eggs pop them in the air fryer at 275 for 10 11 minutes. and then they must go in an ice bath for at least 5min. and then they're gonna be really easy to peel. I just use a spoon to do that.
Plunge in ice water.
If you use the above air fryer boiled eggs time chart but skip the cold water step, your eggs will be overcooked. They may also be more difficult to peel.
Rice. Like pasta, raw grains need to be boiled in water to cook, and while it's fine to add a few drops of water to your air fryer basket, these gadgets aren't built for boiling or steaming foods.
