The opening is tiny and normally closed with mucus. So the cervix may be touched during sex, but it cannot be penetrated. Some people find cervical stimulation pleasant. Others find it uncomfortable or even painful.
Deep penetration with a penis or other object during sexual intercourse could reach and bruise your cervix. If you suffer cervical bruising during sex, it generally hurts immediately, and it may make penetration uncomfortable until the injury heals. Other symptoms may include bleeding, spotting, or lower back pain.
Stimulating the cervix with a finger, sex toy, or penis can feel really good and even lead to an orgasm. But it can also feel neutral, annoying, or painful. Everybody's different, and people can experience different feelings at different times.
Your cervix is located inside your pelvic cavity, anywhere from 3 to 6 inches inside your vaginal canal. It begins at the base of your uterus and extends downward onto the top part of your vagina. This place where your cervix bulges onto the uppermost part of your vagina is called your ectocervix.
Cervical stimulation is a completely safe activity. However, just because it is safe does not mean that everyone has to be okay with trying such deep penetration. It is essential for a woman to communicate with her partner about what feels good and whether she finds this type of penetration comfortable.

When you're fertile and ovulating, the cervix will become softer and may feel similar to your earlobe or lips. It will be much more moist from cervical secretions and a dimple may be felt from the slight opening that allows semen to enter into the uterus.
But absolutely not: no one should be trying to insert anything into the cervix. That's not just because it would hurt, but because clean hands or toys given, it STILL is not safe, and puts you at risk of injury and infection.
As you approach the most fertile stage of the menstrual cycle, the rising levels of oestrogen cause the ligaments around your cervix to tighten, drawing it higher up inside the body. This means it's further for you to reach with your fingers.
Your body position should allow you to easily reach your cervix. That may be sitting on the toilet, putting one leg up on the edge of the bathtub, or squatting. Reach your finger inside your vagina. Use the index or middle finger and slowly slide your finger in as far as you can reach, in sort of an upward motion.
A low cervix means it may only be about 2 inches up inside the vagina or even lower. But if you have a high cervix, you may have to go about 5-6 inches in to reach it. Can hitting the cervix cause bleeding? The short answer: yes, definitely. The long answer: The cervix tends to be more sensitive at certain times of the month—and some people just have sensitive cervixes in general—which can lead to spotting after sex.
You could also try missionary sex but keep your legs straight and mostly together, which makes it harder to go deep. Or try banging with both of you lying on your backs (with you on top of him), looking at the ceiling and him entering you from behind that way.
The test involves inserting two fingers into a woman's vagina to check for the presence of a hymen or the size of the vaginal opening. However, the test has been widely criticized by human rights activists and medical experts, who argue that it is unreliable, unscientific, and violates the woman's dignity and privacy.
It feels like the tip of your nose. After your period stops, the cervix remains low and hard and the opening to the uterus (uterine is) remains closed. As you approach ovulation, the cervix rises up to the top of the vagina and becomes softer and moister.
When the average woman is unaroused, it's 3 to 4 inches deep. For someone who has a high cervix, it's 4 to 5 inches deep. For someone with a lower one, it's less than 3 inches deep. Keep in mind that the vagina lengthens when aroused.

The obstetrician places two fingers inside the vagina and measures the width of the opening of the external os of the cervix using fingers to approximate the distance.
Your care provider will place two fingers inside your vagina (this is called a vaginal examination) and work out how many finger widths fit into the opening of the cervix. If one fingertip fits, the cervix is considered to be 1 cm dilated. If the tips of two fingers fit, this means the cervix is 2 cm dilated.
Early in your cycle, your cervix feels firm (like the tip of your nose). Around ovulation, it gets soft (like your lips). If your cervix feels soft, you're in the luteal phase — and getting closer to your period.
“When the cervix is open, its consistency will be much softer, and you may or may not be able to slightly feel inside the opening.” Try again. Don't worry if you can't find your cervix on your first attempt. This is completely normal, but don't be put off.
