On the Scheduling Assistant tab, right click the icon next to the recipient's name. Select Optional Attendee. Send the meeting invitation.
Click on the Calendar icon in the left rail. In the Outlook calendar click the New Event button. In the new meeting window that opens, click Scheduling Assistant. In the Add optional attendee field, type in the name of an optional person you wish to add to the meeting.
When you create or edit a meeting, you can choose to allow or prevent forwarding of the meeting invitation. The option to allow forwarding is turned on by default. However, if you turn off this option, attendees included on the meeting invitation won't be able to forward the meeting to others.
In the "Scheduling Assistant" window, after typing the email address or name of the attendee, click on the dropdown arrow next to the attendee address and select "Optional Attendee" to categorize them as optional.
In the “Send Update to Attendees” dialog box, choose “Send updates only to added or deleted attendees” and click “OK.”
The best I've found so far is to click the icon to email guests, select only "awaiting reply", copy that list and compose a new email, paste the list into "recipients", then attach the iCal file of the event that you'll have received in the "accepted" email from any of your other guests.
1 You can forward an existing Microsoft Teams meeting invite to the room. From the invitation, select the More options icon and then Forward from the drop-down list.
“Optional” means that the selected attendee has the option to attend but isn't required. “Resources” is used to designate a specific resource needed for the meeting. This could be a particular room in your office, for example. It is important to note that the organizer of the meeting is always a “Required” attendee.
Cause. When Outlook receives a meeting acceptance, the sender of the acceptance is compared to the recipients in the meeting attendee list. If that recipient is not listed, it is assumed to be "optional" and added to the list of attendees.
Just like on the phone, you make it clear that attendance is optional. Add this statement: I want to make sure I've invited the right people. If you think this meeting would not be a good use of your time, please let me know.
Messages that are forwarded will appear to be forwarded from you, while messages that are redirected will appear to come from the original sender.
Compose an email. Click the Options tab. In the dropdown menu, select Do Not Forward. If you change your mind before sending the email, click Remove encryption.
Forward calendar invites
If you have permission to add guests to an event, you can forward the invite to new guests by email.
In the Calendar view, select the meeting you will forward as email, drag and drop it to the Mail icon at the bottom of Navigation Pane. See screenshot: 2. Now the meeting invitation is copied to a new email as below screenshot shown.
When you forward the meeting it only goes to the person(s) you send it to.
Do not forward meeting requests - the meeting attendee list becomes out of date and tracking does not work properly for the forwarded users. Any updates to the meeting are only sent to the original attendees, not the forwarded users.
