For lots of folks, vacation time means that you want to indulge in some adult libations. If that's you, then you're in luck at Walt Disney World. With rare exception, alcohol is available throughout the Disney World theme parks, resorts, and other locations, in many forms and at many price points.
No. You cannot bring your own alcohol into Magic Kingdom or any of Disney's parks.
Disney World has embraced the adult crowd with annual events like the WDW Marathon this weekend and the Epcot Food and Wine Festival. The theme park has also increased the sale of adult beverages on its many properties.
Guests are Often Limited to Two Drinks At A Time
Cast Members are trained to limit guests to no more than two alcoholic beverages per transaction at quick service locations (this often includes Epcot festival booths).
You may walk around the parks (except the Magic Kingdom) with an adult beverage in hand. You do not need to be seated in a restaurant to enjoy your drink. Epcot is a particularly festive place for beer lovers.
Marijuana (including marijuana enriched products) or any illegal substance. Objects or toys that appear to be firearms or weapons. Fireworks or other similarly explosive and/or flammable objects, smoke machines or fog machines. Alcoholic beverages, except at the Disney Resort hotels and Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser.
Walt Disney World is home to over 150 bars and lounges spread across its four theme parks, two water parks, and dozens of resorts.
The huge range of nightlife at Disney World Florida keeps the vast resort buzzing every night of the week. Just because the theme parks close after the sun goes down doesn't mean the fun has to stop!
No, not specifically. Of course, you won't be able to be in the theme parks when they are not open to the public, or in the shops or restaurants when they are closed. But there is no specific curfew time in the resort areas.
As you are probably aware, the Disneyland Resort property rules prohibit smoking and vaping in the theme parks as well as the Downtown Disney District and areas between them.
Wear a Costume as an Adult
Why? Well, a lot of costumes can make you look a whole lot like a character when you're exploring the parks, and Disney doesn't want guests and kids to confuse the real Disney characters in the parks with guests who are dressed up.
Cursing loudly, especially at other guests or cast members, is expressly forbidden and could even get you kicked out for the day. You're also not allowed to wear clothing or have visible tattoos with profanity or offensive imagery.
Guests are welcome to carry a bag or backpack with them into the theme parks. The maximum allowable bag size is 24" by 18" by 15". All Guests and their bags will undergo a security screening process prior to entering the theme parks and Disney Springs.
Depending on what season you go to Disney World, you'll want either shorts or comfortable stretchy jeans/pants. Black leggings are a great go-to for comfort and durability. During the summer months, always opt for shorter bottoms. A note: You do not have to wear only pants/shorts to Disney world!
Per Walt Disney World park rules, shoes must be worn at all times.
When Walt Disney dreamed up his first theme parks, he specifically did not plan to serve alcohol to the general public. “No liquor, no beer, nothing,” he said in a Saturday Evening Post in 1956. “Because that brings in a rowdy element. That brings people that we don't want and I feel they don't need it.”
Kaiburr Crystal – Hyperspace Lounge, Disney Wish Cruise Line
“The galaxy's rarest and (most) valuable cocktail,” describes the Hyperspace Lounge. The Kaiburr Crystal leans on cognac, a liquor made for French kings, Arthur's About Theme Parks reports.
Adults 21 and over may take alcohol into their rooms to be consumed there. You can find some of the most popular beers and wine available for purchase at one of the gift shops at the Disneyland Hotel, Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa and Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel.
When Roy, Walt's brother, established Magic Kingdom in Disney World, he did so upholding his brother's beliefs. In this case, no booze would be sold in the Magic Kingdom. In 1982, when EPCOT first opened, it was revealed alcohol WOULD be for sale in Disney World's second park.
Well, if you drink one drink at every pavilion, it will take you around 11 hours. But, if you want to savor the experience and enjoy a drink at each stop, we recommend allocating around your whole day for the task. Cheers!
Prior to that, the park had a strict no-alcohol policy since its opening in 1971 as part of Walt Disney's original vision to create a family-friendly experience. The rule remains in place at the original Disneyland park in California, except for Disneyland's VIP Club 33.
Alcoholic beverages can be purchased and consumed at Walt Disney World Resort by all Guests over 21 years of age with a valid form of identification. Once you show your ID and purchase your beverage, you will not be given a wristband to wear.
Known simply as Club 33, the lounge is an ultra-exclusive venue for important figures to duck out of the crowds, cool down with a beverage, and enjoy gourmet cuisine. Membership is highly coveted by powerful Disney fans – so much so that the waitlist is rumored to be over 15 years long!
