You can't overdose on Seasol. It's not a Fertiliser. But it does have amazing healing qualities. One capful in a 10 litre watering can will treat around 4m2.
Do not apply Seasol and PowerFeed during the heat of the day. As PowerFeed is a fertiliser it may burn the foliage of the plant or lawn. If fungal problems are an issue, it is best to apply Seasol and PowerFeed in the morning to avoid moisture residue on the foliage overnight.
Apply 100 grams of Seasol Lawn + Soil Booster per square metre to established lawns. Ensure even distribution via hand or lawn spreader. Water it in thoroughly after application. For new lawns or turf apply 100 grams of Seasol Lawn + Soil Booster per square metre into the soil prior to seeding or laying turf.
The heat burns the leaves and it also burns the roots. Seasol is a plant tonic that you mix with water. You can use it everyday when you water your plants without any damage. It encourages sick plants to grow new roots.
Seasol should never be applied undiluted – water is the carrier to ensure proper coverage. Once diluted, it should be used within 24 hours. Seasol is filtered to 150 microns so that it is suitable for application with any conventional spray equipment including boom-sprays or irrigation equipment.
For lawns it is recommended you apply 100ml per 9 litres of water, every 2-4 weeks for best results. Seasol have also developed a product specifically for lawns that contain a liquid fertiliser component.
Seasol and PowerFeed are liquids, they are readily absorbed into the soil and the plant foliage. Therefore you do not need to water them in.
Do not apply when rain is expected as it will just get washed away. Spray should not come into contact with foliage/roots of plants that you do not want to kill. Seasol Another brilliant product!
After mowing apply Seasol hose-on to strengthen leaf blades to reduce stress from heat and drought. Apply it early morning so the grass has time to dry before the onset of a cool night. For more details check out our video “How to Care for Lawns – Mowing & maintenance”.
Unlike fertiliser, Seasol can be applied at any time of the year and at any time of day. It can also be applied in any weather conditions, including on very hot or cold days or when it is wet.
Seasol is a specially formulated seaweed extract. It's a mixture of Bull Kelp, Chile Bull Kelp and Knotted Kelp. What is this? Seasol is not, strictly speaking, a fertiliser because it contains only low levels of nitrogen and phosphorus.
Seasol Advanced provides a dynamic combination of benefits to every plant in the garden including natives. It has the plant tonic effects of Seasol to stimulate root growth, enhance flowering and fruiting and increases tolerance to drought, frost, heat, pests and disease.
Seasol is especially effective when used directly onto foliage as it's absorbed through the leaves. Seasol promotes healthy roots, encourages beneficial soil micro-organisms, stimulates flowering and fruiting and helps plants to cope with stresses like heat, drought, frost and pest and disease attack.
You can over feed grass just like everything else. Overfed grass takes on a bluey green colour and grows leaf often at the expense of good roots. It can quickly build a thatch layer too.
Over fertilising your lawn will cause sudden plant growth, particularly leaf growth and thatch. The problem with this is that the roots won't experience the same amount of rapid growth and will then be unable to supply the amount of water and nutrient that your grass needs.
For 1 litre of water add 2.5ml of Seasol Plus. For 3 litres of water add 7.5ml of Seasol Plus. For 5 litres of water add 12.5ml of Seasol Plus. For 7 litres of water add 17.5ml of Seasol Plus.
It's specially designed to enhance the health of your grass (or plants) at home during the Summer months. This is a liquid solution that needs to be mixed with water so you can apply it during hot weather when the lawn is actively growing. Don't apply if frost is forecast.
For optimum results it should be applied to the garden every 2 weeks, more frequently (every week) if plants are under stress. Unlike fertilizers, Seasol can be applied all year round, even in winter and at the height of summer.
Seasol has almost no NPK
The role a fertilizer truly plays is to supplement the plant with the nutrients – mainly NPK – that it is not getting from the soil. Seasol has only tiny, almost unnoticeable amounts of the most important nutrients your lawns and plants need to thrive.
One of the best and most popular is Seasol which needs to be diluted with water (1 teaspoon to 1 litre of water) and poured over your plants on watering day about once a month in the warmer months.
Seaweed also directly feeds grass. The nutrients are absorbed as a foliar feed through the leaves or in the soil by the roots. It increases chlorophyll production in leaves helping the grass produce more food for itself. The concentrated feeds are rich in plant hormones called cytokinins.
Seasol for Lush Green Lawns is a superior health treatment and liquid fertiliser that combines the benefits of Seasol seaweed solution, a specially formulated nutrient mix, trace elements, concentrated liquid composts and a wetting agent.
While Seasol contains a mixture of brown kelps such as King Island Bull Kelp (Durvillaea potatorum), Chile Bull Kelp (Durvilleae Antarctica), and Knotted Kelp (Ascophyllum nodosum), Eco Seaweed only contains 100% Knotted Kelp. This is harvested from the North Atlantic Ocean.
