Read status lets you see if someone has read your direct message and vice versa. To turn read status on or off: 1. In the TikTok app, tap Profile at the bottom.

Once in the direct messages tab, there is a section bellow called message preferences. From there, tap the toggle icon next to read receipts to turn them on or off. According to TikTok, the other person will know when you read their message only when both users have their read receipts on.
There a few issues that may cause TikTok DMs not to show in the inbox that can be fixed with the correct settings: Age set to under 18. Phone number isn't entered and verified. Privacy settings are too strict.
The first thing you can do is to check for the user who has blocked you by going to your following list. To do that, open TikTok > tap your profile icon > tap Following > in the search bar, type the username and hit search. If your search fetches no results, you're most likely blocked.
If you turn on Filter all comments, comments on your videos will be hidden unless you approve them.

New follower notifications will always appear above your first message conversation. When a new connection is made on TikTok, and you follow someone who follows you back or vice versa, TikTok will create a new message conversation that appears at the top of your conversations—just below New followers.
You cannot retrieve a comment once it has been deleted, so if you simply made a typo and just want to edit your original comment, tap "Copy" before you tap "Delete." Then, you can paste the text of the original comment into a new comment and edit the text before reposting.
You can check the Recently Deleted folder on your device's Gallery as your deleted TikTok video could be stored there temporarily. Alternatively, if you have liked the video, then you can just check the "liked" section in your profile to download the video again.
