Two grey ticks on WhatsApp mean that the message has been delivered to the recipient, but they haven't yet read it. Messages will remain with two grey ticks if the user doesn't open WhatsApp in order to read the message you've sent to them.
Two grey ticks actually means you're not blocked! It means your message has been sent and delivered to your contact's WhatsApp client, they just haven't read it yet. If you've been blocked, you'd only see one grey tick. If you want to block someone on WhatsApp, it's pretty easy.
After the launch of this feature, the single tick meant that the message had been sent, double grey ticks meant that the message had been received but not yet opened, and two blue ticks meant that the receiver had read the message.
A second grey check mark means that your message has been delivered, received on the recipients' device, and isn't just floating around on the network. If the recipient has read receipts turned on, two grey check marks indicate that the recipient has received but not yet read the message.
What does one grey tick mean on WhatsApp? One grey tick on WhatsApp means that your message has been sent, but it hasn't yet been received by your recipient. This may be because their device is off or it isn't connected to the internet, so it has not been able to be delivered to them.
If someone you're chatting with has turned off read receipts, send them a voice note. Even a one second one will do. If they open it, the ticks will turn blue.
If a contact is online, they have WhatsApp open in the foreground on their device and are connected to the Internet. However, it doesn't necessarily mean the contact has read your message. Last seen refers to the last time the contact used WhatsApp.
One grey tick means that the message has been successfully sent from your phone, while two grey ticks indicate that it has been delivered to the intended recipient. The message could have been delivered to their phone or any of their linked devices.
Review your last message's checkmarks.
Checkmarks change according to your message's status: One grey checkmark - Your message was successfully sent. Two grey checkmarks - Your message was received by your recipient's phone. Two blue checkmarks - Your recipient read your message on WhatsApp.
If you see the profile and the number of posts this person has shared, but the posts don't show up in the display area, that means they have manually prevented you from seeing their photos. If the profile doesn't appear at all after a search, this means that the account has either been deactivated or deleted.
Unfed ticks are brown; once they've attached and are feeding they become a grey colour. Take care when removing a tick from your pet – you want to make sure you don't accidentally leave the tick's mouthparts embedded in your dog's skin.
If you send a message as a regular SMS in the green text bubble and you do not get a “Delivered” notification but instead get a notification similar to “Message not Delivered” or no message at all, that means you were probably blocked.
There is no official way to know if two persons are chatting on WhatsApp. However, you can try some methods to find out their online status and activity, such as calling them, using WhatsApp web, or using monitoring apps.
Next to each status, an eye icon shows you how many people have viewed it. By swiping your finger up on a status, you'll see who recently viewed it.
Here's how to mute someone on WhatsApp:
Step 4: Long tap the contact on Android and then click the [down arrow] at the top of the screen. Swipe to the left on iOS, or long touch the contact and select the archive option.
WhatsApp won't notify the other party that you muted them. Similarly, you cannot tell if someone muted you, either. The same applies to group chats. No one in the group, not even the admin, will know that you muted the group.
Note: When you mute message notifications for a chat, your device won't alert you of incoming notifications. However, it's important to remember: Contacts aren't notified that you've muted the chat. Contacts will still receive read receipts when you read their messages.
In Google Messages, open Messages. Tap the three-dot menu (More) > Settings > Chat features. Tap Send read receipts.
Check if your text was read on Google Messages
You must ask the recipient to enable the read receipts option in their Messages app. Only then can you see if the person has read your text.
Via Disabling the Read Receipts Option
A single gray tick means the sender has successfully sent a message. The double gray ticks mean the app has successfully delivered the message on the recipient's device. The double-blue ticks indicate the recipient has received and read the messages.
Most ticks go through four life stages: egg, six-legged larva, eight-legged nymph, and adult. After hatching from the eggs, ticks must eat blood at every stage to survive.
Nymphs can survive for extended periods without food or water. Having found a host, the nymph will engorge a bloodmeal in 4-9 days, and become oval and dark gray. After leaving the host they hide and molt to an adult in 12-29 days (hard ticks have a single nymphal stage whereas soft ticks may have several).
If someone blocks you and then changes their profile picture, you won't see the new profile picture - you'll always see whatever the image was when you got blocked. This means that there isn't a definite way to tell if they're updating their profile picture.
