Chewie: In the novel, he seems to recognize Obi-wan. In the films, he never meets Anakin and Obi-wan, just Yoda, and never sees him again. Naturally he knew about the Empire-but Han didn't want to get involved.
While, it may be true Chewbacca met Yoda and Ahsoka, there is no indication that he met Anakin. Even if Chewbacca has met Anakin, Chewbacca would have assume Anakin was one of those Jedi killed in Order 66.
In TCW, Anakin briefly saw Chewbacca in the finale of season 3.
While Obi-Wan first met Chewbacca in Star Wars: A New Hope, his history with Wookiees goes back decades -- long before Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. Despite their importance to the Star Wars story, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Chewbacca never get to spend much time together.
As Han Solo, Chewbacca, and Leia were gathered in one location at the same time, Vader and his stormtroopers had the perfect opportunity to take them down. However, because he saw their dynamic as a source of weakness, he opted to spare them.
Yoda survived, however, with the help of natives Chewbacca and Tarfful, who used a hidden shuttle to evacuate the Jedi Master from the planet. In the aftermath, the brave Jedi Padawan Gungi, a survivor of the Jedi slaughter, was returned to what remained of his homeworld with the help of Clone Force 99.
After the declaration of the New Republic, Chewbacca became the protector of Han and Leia Organa Solo's children, Jaina, Jacen and Anakin. Chewbacca died in 25 ABY, the first year of the Yuuzhan Vong War, giving his life during the Destruction of Sernpidal to save Anakin Solo.
Chewbacca accompanied Rey to the lost planet Ahch-To, where he was reunited with his old friend Luke.
She also knows Obi-Wan, and she knows him well. Her holographic plea for help, already iconic, will never be the same. She knows Obi-Wan's real name as well as his alias of “Ben.” When Luke comes barging into her cell and says, “I'm here with Ben Kenobi,” Leia jumps off the bunk in an instant.
Fast-forwarding to the sequel trilogy, and with Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Star Wars: The Last Jedi both taking place in 34ABY, Chewbacca would be 234 in those movies, and then 235 in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, which takes place a year later.
By claiming he's never owned a droid, he applies the same tactic as he did with his embellishment about Anakin. He hasn't owned a droid because R2-D2 is his friend. No one can "own" him, and to claim to have done so disrespects the countless ways the little astromech has saved the galaxy.
Wookiees had an average lifespan of 400 standard years, and they appeared not to age over a span of fifty years. Their lifespans dramatically decreased due to the harsh working conditions in the spice mines of Kessel. During their prime growing years, Wookiees were often hungry, forcing them to eat whenever they could.
C-3PO accidentally became part of the Battle of Geonosis when his head was affixed on top of a battle droid's body after a mishap in the Geonosian droid factory. R2-D2 and C-3PO witnessed the secret wedding between Anakin Skywalker and Padmé Amidala on Naboo.
After the battle, R2-D2 and C-3PO were the sole witnesses to the marriage of Anakin Skywalker and Padmé Amidala in Lake Country. After this Padmé gave ownership of R2 to Anakin while she kept 3PO.
Reva knows that Anakin Skywalker is Darth Vader because she was one of his targets—a child—during the Order 66 killings that took place during the events of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.
Yes he did. And the saddest thing is that there was nothing he could do about it. He was broken. The first case is shortly after ROTS when Vader was making his Sith lightsaber.
However, Leia's strong-mindedness during Vader's probe denied him the opportunity to discover she was his daughter. That serves to justify Vader's lack of awareness of his connection to Leia, although, perhaps, not as satisfyingly as if Lucas had planned for the relationship from the beginning.
Darth Vader didn't learn he had a daughter until Return of the Jedi, when he stood before Emperor Palpatine. The Emperor's power probed Luke's mind, attempting to goad him to fall to the dark side, and he discovered Leia's existence.
However, rather than be an oversight or plot hole, Leia might not have remembered old Ben for one sinister reason. This has to do with Ben's Jedi powers, namely the mind trick. As he grew older, he'd use it on Stormtroopers to protect Luke Skywalker.
As the theory explains, Wookiee culture dictates that when Wookiees lose a loved one, they are not supposed to touch anyone until they have had time to grieve in private. This explains Chewbacca's actions.

Yoda And Han Solo
Despite this fact, the two are never shown to interact over the course of the franchise, with Yoda passing away before Han would have ever had the opportunity to meet the Jedi master.
Tarrful may not be a Jedi or a bounty hunter, but his skill and willingness to save his friends and his own species are enough to make Tarrful one of the best and deadliest Wookies in the universe.
After Yoda's death in 4 ABY, that lightsaber ended up in the possession of Yoda's last Jedi apprentice, Luke Skywalker.
Aftermath. Although Order 66 greatly depleted the Jedi Order's ranks, with an estimated less than 100 Jedi surviving it, it was only the beginning of the Great Jedi Purge, which stretched on for years and claimed the lives of many of the survivors of the initial onslaught.
