Both Mothra and Battra attain their imago forms and converge at Yokohama Cosmo World where they begin to fight once more. Godzilla interrupts the battle and initially attacks Battra. Mothra then briefly incapacitates Godzilla and comes to Battra's aid before returning to battle with Godzilla.
In the battle between Ghidorah and Godzilla, Mothra sacrifices herself in order to protect the legendary creature. When she dies, she gains a sense of intelligence and compassion. The trailer for the upcoming film Godzilla vs. Kong depicts her bow to no one.
Godzilla (Japanese: モスラ対ゴジラ, Hepburn: Mosura tai Gojira) is a 1964 Japanese kaiju film directed by Ishirō Honda, with special effects by Eiji Tsuburaya. Produced and distributed by Toho Co., Ltd., it is the fourth film in the Godzilla franchise.
Like previous incarnations, the Heisei Mothra is a benevolent and peaceful creature concerned with defending the Earth. However, Mothra is still capable of causing destruction, which she does while trying to rescue the Cosmos from the Marutomo Company.
Mothra (モスラ, Mosura), also called The Goddess of Peace, is a giant, divine, butterfly/moth-like deity kaiju goddess, the series quadtagonist, and the Guardian of the Earth. She is Godzilla's closest friend. Unlike most other monsters in the series, Mothra is always on the side of good.
King Ghidorah
A three-headed dragon and long-time foe of Godzilla. Often mind-controlled, usually by aliens.
King Ghidorah is considered Godzilla's greatest rival and for good reason. He's bigger, badder, and stronger than any other kaiju Godzilla has fought. Being able to fly and having three heads, King Ghidorah proves to be a lot to handle and Godzilla usually needs aid from others to be able to take him down.
Battra then returns the favor coming to Mothra's defense. Regrouping, the two moths decide to join forces against Godzilla, determining him to be the greater threat to the planet. Eventually, Mothra and Battra overwhelm Godzilla and carry it over the ocean.
The egg hatches and the new Mothra, a male larva named Mothra Leo, goes to protect his mother, but sadly Mothra is mortally wounded by Desghidorah while Leo is still too weak to injure the dragon. After Mothra dies, Leo metamorphoses into an adult, then manages to kill Desghidorah.
After Godzilla killed Mothra, two of her offspring encased him in silk at the end of Mothra vs. Godzilla. Mothra won in Godzilla vs. Mothra as well, but only because of an alliance she made with Battra.
As for the humans in his movies, they're usually unable to stop him from running amok in Japan. But in spite of Godzilla's seemingly unbeatable nature, his record is far from flawless. He's lost fights before, and has even been outright killed. Here's every incident where Godzilla died, and exactly how it happened.
It was Godzilla's love life. Mothra is the moth-like monster star of the film, and according to Weibo, she's also Godzilla's wife.
Battra. Essentially Mothra's counterpart, Battra only appeared in 1992's Godzilla vs. Mothra yet still made an impact on the franchise. It is an intimidating creature with a phenomenal, fearsome design (both in terms of its larvae stage and final stage).
Despite repeated "deaths", Mothra never really dies, and that's a big part of what makes her so special in Toho's movies and in the MonsterVerse. In the Godzilla movies, Mothra never really dies, and that's because the iconic character has a complicated life cycle that makes her unique to her fellow giant monsters.
She is a Divine Moth Kaiju and is married to Rodan. The love triangle between her, Rodan, and King Ghidorah, as well as her relationship with Ghidorah as a whole set off the show's story.
Mothra's Sacrifice
The same holds true in King of the Monsters, where Mothra ultimately sacrifices herself to give Godzilla her power.
Battra is also referred to as the Black Mothra (黒いモスラ Kuroi Mosura) at one point by the Cosmos in Godzilla vs. Mothra, a nickname which is also listed as the monster's subtitle in some publications.
Mothra burns up and disintegrates, but her ashes fall onto Godzilla as he groans at her passing, transferring her power to him and ultimately enabling him to unlock his Burning Godzilla form.
History. Mothra is a descendant of the Kaiju of Earth, Gigamoth, along with her brother Battra. Having hatched from same egg, both siblings carried a strong bond between each other and acted as the respected guardians, Mothra being the Guardian of Mortals, and Battra as the Guardian of Terra.
First appearance. Majira (マジラ?) is Godzilla's mother and a character in the Japanese version of the 1990 Gameboy game, Gojira-kun: Kaijū Daikōshin.
Mothra : mothra is by far the weakest of the six main titans in the monsterverse. Not that she's weak but she doesn't really compare to the others .
Godzilla and Ghidorah were plenty destructive in their battle to be recognized as the King of the Monsters. But Mothra is the undisputed Queen. The giant moth-like monster first appeared in the 1961 Toho film “Mothra” and is among the most popular kaiju in the “Godzilla” franchise.
Destoroyah may not be the most powerful foe Godzilla ever faced, but he is the cruelest, the most vicious, and the most evil.
Anguirus was reintroduced in Destroy All Monsters as an ally and best friend of Godzilla living with him on Monsterland, a role that Anguirus maintained throughout Godzilla vs. Gigan, Godzilla vs. Megalon, and Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla.
