Maggie's character went through many changes as her story progresses. While she learned to be a strong leader, she also made some questionable choices that proved to be cruel and vindictive. These decisions Maggie made occasionally depicted her as more of a villain than a hero.
The catalyst that really started Maggie on this path upon which we now find her was the death of Glenn. Several years later, she's never really dealt with the mental and emotional trauma of that. There's no time for grief management in the apocalypse.
Maggie never meant to do anything against Rick. All she said is that he was wrong keeping Negan alive, and that they would kill him when the time was right.
Maggie, who was pregnant at the time of the iconic line-up, rightfully struggles to forgive Negan. As the show jumped forward in time, Negan grew and learned to leave his villainous days behind him. The two were forced to work together at the tail end of The Walking Dead's run - he even saved Maggie's son at one point!
When we last saw her, Maggie was debilitatingly sick from as-yet-unexplained pregnancy complications. When Negan's 11 potential victims were captured by the Saviors, they were on their way to Hilltop to get medical help for Maggie. She's shaky, immobile, and almost delirious from fever and pain.
(Negan, however, didn't know Maggie was pregnant at the time.)
When the heartbroken Aaron is greeted by Maggie at the Hilltop, she sees that he is carrying Gracie in his arms. Later that day, Maggie holds the baby as she talks with Jesus about the captured Saviors.
Initially, she holds a knife up to Negan's throat, and it looks like there's definitely no love lost between the two – especially from Maggie's side. However, whether they like it or not, they must work together as they go on the hunt for The Croat to save Hershel.
There Was Never Any Romance Between Negan and Maggie
Perhaps the tension was more about learning to tolerate each other than denying their innermost desires.
Thankfully, that never happened. There were way too many moments in the final season of The Walking Dead that appeared to set up a Maggie and Negan romance. Though their interactions occasionally turned somewhat hostile, beneath it all was a palpable sexual tension.
Once he's gone, Maggie remarks to Daryl that he hasn't spoken a word to her ever since he returned to the Hilltop. Crying, Daryl apologizes to Maggie for Glenn's death.
There are multiple times throughout the series in which Daryl appears to be the villain rather than one of the heroes. Though Merle Dixon is one of Daryl's greatest enemies, he was dedicated to his brother at the beginning.
After Rick decides to spare Negan and many of the Saviors at the end of the war, Maggie is outraged her husband's killer will get to live out his days.
Why did no one want to take her? Answer: The villagers looked at Maggie with pity because she was thin and diseased. They showed concern for the poor child and many mothers even brought cast-off garments and, removed her soiled and ragged clothes and dressed her in clean attire.
Glenn later talks to Maggie about why she hanged herself, about her depression over losing her family and their inability to conceive.
The leaked footage reveals Negan killing Maggie (Lauren Cohan) with the barbwire-covered bat he calls Lucille. In a new interview with Emmy Magazine, Morgan and Cohan reflected on that death scene, with Cohan telling her co-star, "There was a point where you had to kill me."
Negan left our group to head off with his pregnant wife Annie to start their family elsewhere while Maggie continued as the leader of the Hilltop.
At some point in the apocalypse, Brandon and his parents somehow came into contact with a group named "the Saviors" which they subsequently joined, during where he developed an obsession with Negan and his leadership based on stories told by his father.
In the season 10 episode "Here's Negan", he is portrayed as having been a high school gym teacher. Negan later met a woman named Lucille and the pair fell in love and married. Over time, however, Negan began cheating on her. She found out about the affair and he begged her forgiveness, which she granted.
But in a Season 11 Part 2 episode, when Maggie struggles to escape from a murderous Reaper, it's a swing from Negan that saves her life, continuing his redemption to the viewers, but still not to Maggie.
Negan will never truly be a good guy, but he can redeem himself, albeit slightly. It can be difficult to see the good in a man who killed off two beloved characters merely minutes into his first appearance.
The Walking Dead revealed the father of Rosita's baby in the latest episodes of the show. It was a mystery that didn't last for very long, even though she still seems to have three important men in her life. The father of the baby is Siddiq (Avi Nash), who has become an important character on the show.
Hershel Rhee was born in November 2012 at Hilltop Colony of Culpeper, Virginia to Maggie Rhee and his late father, Glenn Rhee. Hershel was named after his maternal grandfather, Hershel Greene. His parents were survivors of the outbreak and met shortly after the fall of civilization.
“It's quite early in, as it was in the book,” says showrunner Gimple about the pregnancy. So Gimple says that unless something radical changes in the last two months of filming, that there will be no birth, meaning a span of over two-and-a-half seasons from when we found out Maggie was carrying.
