In The Beginning of the End - Part 1, Celestia and Luna announce their decision to retire as rulers of Equestria, and have Twilight and her friends rule in their place.
Royal retirement
They explain that Equestria is enjoying its longest period of peace in recent years, largely thanks to Twilight and her friends. Because of this, Celestia and Luna have decided to retire and leave the protection of Equestria to the Mane Six.
Princess Twilight Sparkle becomes the "Princess of Friendship" in the season four episode Twilight's Kingdom - Part 2. In the season nine episode The Last Problem, she is crowned the new ruler of Equestria, taking Celestia and Luna's place when they retire.
The answer to this question is no. There are three types of alicorns, neither living forever, but some living longer. Born alicorns such as Luna and Celestia live a longer life than other normal ponies, by aging one year every 50 or so years, and maturing much faster than normal kinds of ponies.

Appearance and Abilities
The synthetic alicorns (or alicorn drones) are all female (even though both male and female ponies can be turned), with no cutie mark.
Ultimately, they decide to hold off on their retirement to give Twilight more time to prepare to rule. In The Last Problem, Celestia officially turns control of ruling Equestria over to Twilight and retires to Silver Shoals with Luna.
Twilight undergoes a transformation and returns as a winged unicorn known as an alicorn. Her friends are amazed and happily welcome her change, while Celestia announces that Twilight is no longer her student, but a princess who has demonstrated leadership and other positive attributes during her stay in Ponyville.
A million years ago, a Celestial named Zgreb the Aspirant came to Earth in search for the Progenitor. Zgreb found the Progenitor and became infected with the Horde. However, the Horde mutated him into a rabid "Dark Celestial," the first of its kind.
Princess Skyla (Full name Skyla Heart Sparkle) is Princess Cadance and Shining Armor's first born foal. Skyla is the older sister of Princess Armor Bride, Princess Sweetie Heart, Princess Scander and Princess Britney Sweet, Flurry Heart and Prince Tyrone.
Princess Celestia born as the second child of King Cosmos and Queen Galaxia of Equestria. When she was a filly, she used to play a lot with her two sisters, Ingrid and Luna. In "The Innocence of Youth", Celestia and her family welcome a new member, Orion. She and her sisters also reaffirms their eternal friendship.
Princess Celestia is Luna's older sister and they seem to be very close. As they are the ones who raise the Sun and the Moon, they rule over Equestria. When Luna turned into Nightmare Moon, Celestia was forced to expel her to the Moon, something that caused her a lot of regret and sadness.

In The Last Laugh, Pinkie helps Cheese rediscover his passion for bringing joy to others when he loses his own. In The Last Problem, Pinkie and Cheese are revealed to be married in the future with a son named Li'l Cheese.
Rainbow Dash has a pet tortoise named Tank, whom she chooses out of Fluttershy's offered animals. She represents the element of loyalty. She later marries Soarin and has a son named Gust.
There's been much debate lately after The Crystalling as to whether or not Celestia and Luna were born Alicorns or became them through magical means. Celestia stated clearly that the birth of Flurry Heart, an Alicorn is something that: "Equestria has never seen before."
In Legends of Magic Annual 2018, Celestia and Luna are abducted by Pony of Shadows from an alternate dimension, who seeks to corrupt them into becoming Daybreaker and Nightmare Moon.
The sun's super-hot rays are also making her evil. The heat wave temperature eventually increases, causing Princess Celestia to transform. Her tail and mane are now made of fire, and her eyes turn red. She also becomes really evil.
One day, Luna finally became fed up with Celestia's success. Not only did she refuse to lower the moon, but also challenged Celestia for the sole rulership of Equestria. At that moment, the darkness in Luna's heart manifested and consumed her, transforming her into Nightmare Moon, a black mare of pure darkness.
Unlike the Celestia, who is kind, intelligent, wise, and mature, Evil Celestia is cruel and quite childish, taking every chance to taunt her enemies and treated her fight with Celestia as "playing". She would even be excited that both her and the other world would collide.
Celestia and Luna have it because it takes massive amounts of power to raise the sun and moon. Cadence did get a flowy mane once, in the last scene of A Canterlot Wedding (when she and Shining Armor banish all the changelings).
Type of Villain
Celestia Ludenberg telling her friends that everything about sticking together in harmony was nothing but a lie. Celestia "Celeste" Ludenberg is a character from the Danganronpa franchise. She starts out as a supporting character, but she is later revealed to be a murderer that has to be brought down.
