In Episode Four, the young Princess Rhaenyra
Turns out, Rhaenyra and Daemon are endgame, meaning they have a sexually tense relationship, eventually hook up, and get married—which is pretty significant from a power play perspective considering (1) they both want the throne and (2) their Targaryen union is almost sure to guarantee that happens—even though Alicent ...
Daemon stumbles back to the Red Keep and is brought before the king, who confronts him with the White Worm's intel. Daemon, pointedly, doesn't deny that he and Rhaenyra had sex.
In the seventh episode of the blockbuster HBO series, Prince Daemon marries his own niece, Princess Rhaenyra. The incestuous romance had been building for some time. Before a 10-year time jump occurred in the show's sixth epsode, Daemon took a young Rhaenyra to a brothel in King's Land where the two got intimate.
That's right, during the Oct. 2 episode of House of the Dragon, Rhaenyra (Emma D'Arcy) and Daemon (Matt Smith) stopped fighting their feelings for one another and finally got together. However, this was more than just an illicit liaison, as Rhaenyra and Daemon got married at the end of the episode.
Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D'Arcy) and Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith) finally had sex on House of the Dragon.
We last saw her find out the truth in "We Light the Way" that Rhaenyra lost her virginity to Ser Criston Cole (Fabien Frankel).
In traditional Targaryen fashion, some incestual intimacy unfolds between them. Daemon stops himself from taking her virginity, though, fleeing the scene conflicted while leaving Rhaenyra to make her way home alone.
Then Daemon kissed her. And she was very much interested in that. The uncle and niece got steamy fast. Clothes flew off and Rhaenyra gave back to Daemon as good as she got.
After berating Daemon for “abandoning” her to marry the now-deceased Laena Velaryon, Rhaenyra makes it clear that she has feelings for her uncle and wishes to strengthen her position in Westeros by marrying him. The pair then have sex.
Rhaenyra puts her hands on Daemon; she's kissing him back as he starts to take off her clothes. But as she tries more aggressively to kiss him, he starts backing away. He hits the walls with his hands and leaves.
The upshot: Criston confesses that it was he and not Daemon who slept with Rhaenyra. He expects to be castrated, tortured and/or killed, but Alicent simply lets him go. If you're scoring at home, that's three people who've told Alicent she was wrong to believe Rhaenyra.
Her next child whom she's now pregnant with, however, will be a different story. In House of the Dragon episode 8, Rhaenyra Targaryen is pregnant with her daughter Visenya. Despite Rhaenyra and Daemon's excitement over having another child, their daughter will tragically never take a breath of air.
After Daemon's first wife dies, he gets together with Laena Velaryon—who was initially suggested as a bride for King Viserys. They have two daughters. Meanwhile, Rhaenyra marries Laena's brother, Laenor Velaryon, and they have several kids.
She actually didn't sleep with Daemon, he couldn't do it." While showrunner Miguel Sapochnik said: "It's the idea that Daemon is using Rhaenyra as a way to get at her father. Ultimately, his impotence in this scene is a reflection of the fact that he knows deep down what he's doing isn't right."
Aegon III, aka Aegon the Younger: Rhaenyra and Daemon's first child together.
Back at King's Landing, Otto Hightower is vacating. Daughter Alicent tells him she regrets her role in the debacle over what happened the night Rhaenyra was spotted kissing Daemon.
8 Rhaenyra Loves Her Uncle
In the fourth episode of House of the Dragon, Daemon first becomes intimate with Rhaenyra after taking her to a brothel.
He chokes Rhaenyra after she starts telling him The Song of Ice and Fire prophecy and learning that Viserys kept secrets from him. Perhaps Daemon's attack was motivated by this perceived betrayal? Part of it also may be related to his dislike of Viserys weakness.
Those who watched the hour know that it ended with the wedding of Rhaenyra Targaryen to her uncle, Daemon Targaryen, a moment that I think we're supposed to applaud.
While we conjectured that something inside forced Daemon to stop before he took Rhaenyra's virginity, a recent HBO-approved “Inside the Episode” installment revealed that something was literally impotence. He literally couldn't get it up.
The Old Valyrian Custom
This is presumably to keep their wedding a secret, although all of their children are in attendance. In the Old Valyrian custom, both the bride and groom cut each other's lips with a fine blade of dragonglass. Daemon cuts his hand, so their blood can mix together.
Rhaenyra Targaryen's love life proves to be troubled, fueling the misogyny that accepts men in her position with several lovers, but never one woman. In the book, there are hints of her lovers, and in the series, we have proof of each of them: her uncle, Daemon Targaryen, Ser Criston Cole, and soon, Ser Harwin Strong.
Rhaenyra has been pregnant with her daughter Visenya since House of the Dragon's latest and last time jump, and it is heartbreaking to see her deal with this loss. The way in which the scene plays out makes it especially disturbing. RELATED: House of the Dragon: Which Dragon is Daemon Singing To?
Back at the castle, an inflamed Rhaenyra swiftly seduces Ser Criston Cole (Fabien Frankel) and the two have sex. She's flirtatious the next morning, but Criston is awkward. She's still his boss, after all, and the king would likely have his head if he knew the truth.
