Demon Slayer's season 3's latest episode has left fans on edge with Tanjiro's discovery of Yoriichi Tsugikuni's Type Zero sword.
That was the reason why he wanted to protect it from Tokito, who would have destroyed it due to his immense strength and skills as a Hashira. But while Tokito did indeed train with the doll and left it damaged, Kotetsu decided to allow Tanjiro to use Yoriichi Type Zero to become even stronger.
It was Yoriichi's sword, he found it inside Yoriichi Type Zero doll when he destroy the head. And then hotaru took the sword to fix it. Tanjiro also use Kyojuro's tsuba in this sword.
After Tanjiro chipped his sword in his battle against Upper Rank Six, Hotaru trained more to make a stronger sword. Hotaru demonstrated his professionalism and expertise when he polished and sharpened the 300-year-old blade left in Yoriichi Type Zero while completely ignoring the wounds he received from Gyokko.
Demon Salyer Season 3 has given Tanjiro a mysterious new sword – one that will hopefully better prepare him for the fights against the Upper Rank demons that are now gunning for him and the rest of the Demon Slayers.
Black is the most mysterious color of all the blades, and is held by the main character, Tanjiro. It is a rare blade and represents the sun; it also holds a theory that the demon slayers who own this sword are not to live a long life.
This is the sword that appeared out of the neck of the doll at the end of Demon Slayer season three's second episode. In the manga Tanjiro has the sword repaired by Haganezuka, who he initially traveled to the Swordsmith Village to find.
Some of the characters who have faced Yoriichi and survived
This happened due to a treatment that had gone wrong. While he was being treated, Muzan killed the doctor because he was not able to observe any results.
Yoriichi's katana also has the words Slay ( 滅 めつ , Metsu?) engraved on the side. Along with his katana, Yoriichi also carries a standard sword sheath that is black in color.
It was still Sengoku when Yoriichi died at 85, and the earliest date Sengoku may have ended is 1568.
Overview. Nichirin Blades can turn into virtually any color dependent on the user and their Breathing Style, however, there is one color that cannot be accessed, which is a bright red color. This color was first discovered by Yoriichi Tsugikuni when he became a Demon Slayer due to his Sun Breathing.
Tanjiro's ancestor was a good friend of Yoriichi and arguably was one of his only true friends. Therefore Yoriichi gave the earrings as a gift, and since then they have been passed down the generations until they reached Tanjiro.
The episode begins with Tanjiro encountering the ghost of Yoriichi Tsugikuni, the creator of the Sun Breathing technique. Through a series of flashbacks, we learn about Yoriichi's tragic past and how he met the Kamado family.
Tanjiro's earrings are modified hanafuda cards that have been passed down in his family. In Demon Slayer season 1, episode 19, “Hinokami,” Tanjiro's father Tanjuro wears the earrings. They were also worn by Yoriichi Tsugikuni, the originator of the Breathing Styles.
Of course, the one who takes the top spot in terms of the best swords in Demon Slayer is Tanjiro's black Nichirin blade.
After season 3 of Demon Slayer anime (aka the Sword Smith Village arc), Tanjiro switched to the sword he found inside Yoriichi Type Zero, the ancient robot created for swordsmen to practice and sharpen their skills. This sword was already deep black in color and didn't change color after our hero's touch.
Michikatsu, who snuck around behind their father's back to see his brother, pitied Yoriichi, who was thought to be deaf until he was seven and clung to his mother's side at all time. At some point, he gave Yoriichi a flute he made as a gift.
The Bright Red Nichirin Sword may be a thing of beauty, but it takes a skilled and powerful Demon Slayer to wield it. And Tanjiro is just the man for the job. Not only does he possess the strength and agility needed to handle such a weapon, but he has also awakened his Demon Slayer Mark not once but twice.
Tanjiro and his father look extremely similar to each other. Fans think that Tanjiro was related to the legendary swordsman since he had the same earrings, and their appearances are similar as well. However, Tanjiro is not a descendant of Yoriichi Tsukiguni.
Yoriichi would be able to defeat every single Hashira on this list without breaking a sweat. Such was his reputation and skill in swordsmanship.
When Yoriichi moved forward to kill him, Muzan used the remains of whatever power he had left and divided his body in a powerful burst. Though Yoriichi was able to destroy nearly all the fragments, the pieces he missed escaped and allowed Muzan to regenerate again.
So to compare Tanjiro's Demon form in which he's immune to sunlight, and also has the prowess of Sun Breathing, it would give him an upper hand, but still he would lose to Yoriichi.
Demon Slayer season three spoilers follow
We watched Tanjiro spend most of the episode battling against an extremely cool mechanical doll, the Yoriichi Type Zero, under the tutelage of young swordswmith Kotetsu until the pair were surprised by a treasure hidden inside.
Since the mechanical doll was based off Yoriichi Tsugikuni, it had to be given six arms to recreate his swordsmanship style, the doll was also able to execute 108 various moves and is said to be stronger than an average human.
Later in the battle Tanjiro's left arm is severed by Muzan. After being turned into a demon by Muzan, Tanjiro is able to heal the growth on his face as well as regenerate his lost arm and other smaller injuries.
