When the sheriff develops a picture of the Hyde at the end of episode 3, he is not shocked by the image of the monster — he knows it well. A regular at the coffee shop he worked at, Laurel Gates revealed to him his Hyde nature as a way to control and unlock his Hyde powers. At the last episode of the season, however, Tyler reveals that he actually acquired control over his Hyde and serves Laurel voluntarily. He was portrayed by Hunter Doohan.
Another information dump: Thornhill knew about Tyler's mom from her father Ansel Gates, who kept tabs on all the outcasts. She got the job at Nevermore, used a plant-derived chemical to unlock Tyler's Hyde, and manipulated him by revealing the truth about his mother.
The secret that Sheriff Donovan Galpin hides from his son Tyler is that his mother is an outcast from Nevermore. She was a Hyde monster too, and she married who later became Jericho's Sheriff. The Sheriff is ashamed of this secret and has always tried his best to protect his son from the consequences of this truth.
Tyler's father knew about this but kept it hidden, as he loved her and just wanted his family to be "normal". Tyler's mother later passed away, a memory that has clearly haunted him. Unfortunately for Tyler, the trauma of losing his mother was exactly what was needed to unlock the Hyde, and someone preyed on it.
Tyler's dad didn't know he was a werewolf. Mason confirmed to Tyler that Richard didn't know about the werewolf gene. No that wasn't it. He was trying to get Tyler to tigger the curse.

Laurel reveals she figured out Tyler was a Hyde because his mother was. His deceased mother had been a student at Nevermore at the same time as Wednesday's parents, hidden in the background of an old photo where Morticia was the star.
Thornhill was the real Laurel, not Kinbott, and she used a plant-based serum to get Tyler, whom she took a liking to, on her side and groom him.
In season 1, episode 7 of Wednesday, "If You Don't Woe Me By Now," fans learn that Tyler Galpin (Hunter Doohan), is the Hyde monster. While Wednesday is one of the best horror TV characters, Tyler is great too, as he takes an interest in her and seems to understand her in a way that no one else does.
Series. Francoise Sylvanne Galpin was the late wife of Donovan Galpin and mother to their son, Tyler Galpin. She was an outcast, and her Hyde was released after her pregnancy with her son Tyler.

It turns out that Miss Thornhill, the science teacher, has been manipulating Tyler all along! Just like Dr. Jekyll, she used a chemical concoction to awaken Tyler's powers, all so she could take revenge against the outcasts of the school!
This is where our suspicions that Laurel Gates texted Wednesday stem from. Given that she wasn't able to carry out her mission of killing Wednesday at the end of Season 1, if Gates did survive the bee and foot attack, the character has more than enough motive to complete her quest of murdering Wednesday.
While Wednesday is a raven, Morticia is a dove, which is based on their differing worldviews. Wednesday's character Morticia has a more positive outlook on the world, which means that her psychic visions aren't as strong or dark as her daughter's.
