The members of the Shazamily go as follows: Billy Batson,
Shazam Makes The Ultimate Sacrifice
In addition to the horde of monsters storming Philadelphia, Kalypso can also use the Staff of Shazam to absorb magical energy. She uses this to strip Billy's adoptive family of their powers and Anthea when she turns against her.
One of DC's most powerful heroes, Shazam, just had his powers removed by the wizard who granted them for essentially being a hero.
The Daughters of Atlas, in possession of the Magical Staff, are able to take away the Shazam Magic that has been running through the veins of the Shazamily. At the climax of the film, everyone in the family except Billy Batson loses their power.
Before he can hit the ground, however, Billy shares his power with him, bestowing upon his father all the abilities that come with being a member of the Shazam Family. Now, C.C. has the powers of super-strength, flight, electricity blasts and more. Plus, he's got his own costume to match with the rest of the Champions.
Each member of this version of the Shazam Family shares their power equally with the others, so if the six members are transformed at once, each of them gets only a fraction of the power level.
If you recall, in Shazam!, Billy and his foster siblings wrestle control of Shazam's magic staff and call out his name, thus transferring the Wizard's immense power to each family member.
(Image credit: Warner Bros.) Yes, the Shazam Family all get their powers back at the end of the movie, though we don't actually see it happen.
When Teth-Adam says the magic word "Shazam", he is transformed into the Mighty Adam, a superpowered being possessing the same powers that Captain Marvel would later be granted; however, the Mighty Adam is soon corrupted by the vastness of his powers.
Finally, Shazam has a superhero code to hold him down, while Black Adam doesn't let useless things like a moral compass stop him. So, Shazam can only beat Black Adam by using his childhood creativity to trick the antihero, forcing him to say the magic word that takes away his powers.
21 Power: Cannot Age
So as Billy Batson ages normally, the body he gets from his Shazam power will remain the same age forever. This is tied to his abilities thanks to what is known as the Stamina of Atlas. The wizard who gave him his power also has this ability, yet remains in stasis as an old man for some reason.
Billy, on the other hand, shared those powers via that same staff and gem with his adopted brothers and sisters to create the Shazamily, thus creating five more versions of himself all equal to each other. Yet, Billy's powers are not weakened or diminished in any way.
In current continuity, the Shazam Family comprises the superpowered alter egos of Billy Batson (teenaged alter-ego of Shazam, formerly Captain Marvel) and his foster siblings: Mary Bromfield (formerly Mary Marvel), Freddy Freeman (formerly Captain Marvel Jr.), Darla Dudley, Pedro Peña, and Eugene Choi.
Shazam wasn't the only Wizard guarding the Rock of Eternity. He told Billy that there were seven of them, and that the others were killed over the years by the Seven Deadly Sins. This explains why there are seven thrones at the Rock of Eternity. Each throne is meant for a different Wizard.
Billy Batson, AKA Shazam himself, dominated our poll, getting 82% of the vote by the time we spoke to the cast. That's probably not too shocking though, considering he's the title character. So really, the big race was to see who fans felt could end up as the second most powerful member of the family after Billy.
In the DC Universe, Shazam is known for being super powerful, but it turns out that empowering his family with his abilities actually makes him weaker.
Like Shazam, Black Adam's powers originated from the wizards of the Rock of Eternity. However, after being sealed away in ancient Kahndaq for abusing his powers, Black Adam was reawakened with a new source of power: six Egyptian gods, rather than the six gods and heroes who power Shazam.
Similarly, Black Adam has a weakness to the mineral known as Eternium. A single missile made of Eternium proved to be enough to knock Black Adam unconscious for hours. In Black Adam, the Intergang used Eternium not just in their weapons, but also for their hover cycles.
Darkseid's immense power easily outclasses Black Adam with his Omega Beams, immeasurable strength, and absolutely insane durability. Darkseid has survived explosions and weapons that were specifically designed to kill him.
Mary exclaims that Billy cannot say "Shazam", inadvertently saying the word herself. She is then struck by a magic lightning bolt and transformed into a super-powered version of herself, later christened "Mary Marvel" by her brother.
Behind the scenes
Another deleted scene included a conversation where Shazam is speaking with the Sins about how they killed the other members of the Council, In the final film, Shazam mentions that the Wizards were slain by the Seven Sins.
Butcher And Hughie's Powers Still Aren't Permanent
While it might seem that their deaths are right around the corner, The Boys already revealed how season 3's Billy Butcher powers can remain intact.
Cissie Sommerly became Billy Batson's first girlfriend, regularly appearing in his Golden Age adventures. Cissie returned in the Bronze Age when DC acquired the rights to the Shazam Family. However, she soon faded into obscurity and has never appeared in a Post-Crisis story.
While there are some fun cameos in Shazam! Fury of the Gods, Dwayne Johnson is not among them. That's right, Johnson does not reprise his role as Black Adam in Shazam 2 with the film failing to feature an appearance from Johnson in any form.
Shazam feels that he has truly found his successor in the upstanding Batson, but before he can act on this, a possessed Theo Adam murders Batson and his wife Marilyn for the magic amulet. He therefore decides to enlist C.C. Batson's young son, Billy, as the successor to his power.
