The government has promised an additional $10 million for Carers Australia to increase financial assistance to young carers so they can continue their education.
The carer's allowance will increase by 10.1 per cent from April 2023.
The Carer Supplement is an annual payment of $600 which is attached to each Carer Allowance.

The carer must be in receipt of Carer Allowance or Carer Payment on 1 July each year. The supplement is $600 each year for each eligible payment and each care receiver. There is no need to claim this separately as it is paid automatically.
