The carer must be in receipt of Carer Allowance or Carer Payment on 1 July each year. The supplement is $600 each year for each eligible payment and each care receiver. There is no need to claim this separately as it is paid automatically.
If you're getting an eligible payment you'll get Carer Supplement between 5 July and 1 August 2023. To get Carer Supplement, you need to get an eligible payment for a period that includes 1 July. We'll pay you Carer Supplement for each eligible person you care for. You don't need to do anything to get this payment.

About 53,000 care workers will receive a £1,000 bonus from April, the Welsh government has announced. Payments you can get as a carer
Constant care means you provide care for a large amount of time daily. This roughly equates to a normal working day. If this care stops you from working full time, this payment could be for you. Carer Allowance is a supplementary payment if you care for someone who needs daily support.
Carer Payment (CP) is made to someone providing constant care at under award wages to a person with a sufficiently severe disability in their home. The carer could be a family member or a friend, and they may or may not normally be resident in the home of the person with disability.
A payment to help students with the cost of moving from regional or remote areas for tertiary study. The Tertiary Access Payment (TAP) is a one off payment of up to $5,000. It's to help eligible students with the cost of moving to study. This is for study after you've finished year 12 or equivalent.
The Cost of Living Payment is a $250 one-off payment to help with the cost of living. The Cost of Living Payment is not taxable, and you don't need to report it as income.

The 25 hours includes travel time. You must still provide care for a significant period each day. Keep in mind, any income you get from a job can reduce the amount we pay you.
