Changes in total body weight vary for men and women. Men often gain weight until about age 55, and then begin to lose weight later in life. This may be related to a drop in the male sex hormone testosterone. Women usually gain weight until age 65, and then begin to lose weight.
As you age, your muscle mass decreases and your fat mass increases. Fat is less metabolically active than muscle—you don't need as many calories to maintain fat as you do to maintain muscle. Hormonal changes can also lead to weight gain.
Genetics. Some men naturally have have a predisposition towards muscularity. Heavy bone structure, lots of fast-twitch muscle fiber in the musculature, etc.
This is because guys have more testosterone (a male hormone), which helps form muscle. Since women naturally have less testosterone, they build muscle at a slower pace.

Height plays no significant factor in a person's ability to grow muscle. Whilst shorter people may appear to have gained more muscle in less time, it's simply because they need less muscle to fill out proportionally.

This equation implies that starting at 160lb, add 5lb for every inch you are over 5'10”, or subtract 5lb for every inch you are below 5'10”. That's the maximum LBM you can gain naturally assuming you are in the average span of the genetic bell curve. Pretty simple.
Fitness experts say, it's possible for a slim guy to put on muscle. The bonus for you here is that your body fat levels are naturally low, so when you do gain muscle, you'll be able to achieve a ripped look.

After the yearlong study, findings showed that heavier men with obvious bellies were able to last for an average of 7.3 minutes in bed, while thinner men barely lasted for two minutes, being more likely to suffer from premature ejaculation.
Finally, an additional study found that in terms of gauging facial attractiveness, instead of rating men with strong jaws and “macho” features as more appealing, women were more drawn to men with skinnier faces.
If you're skinny, you may think you need to be more muscular in order to attract a partner, but you can look and feel sexy no matter what body shape you have. Staying confident about your body and personality will help you feel sexier as well as appear more attractive to others.
Are people who are overweight and therefore larger in size for their height stronger than people the same size who weigh less? It is well-known that body size and strength go hand in hand. The larger the body size, the greater the strength. Larger people can produce more force.

Muscle mass certainly influences strength, but it's also certainly not THE determinant of strength between individuals, and hypertrophy is not the only factor influencing strength gains.
People who are overweight do not only have more fat mass but also more fat-free mass [7]. With that, people who are overweight or obese are likely to have more muscle mass and to be stronger compared to people who are not overweight.
A group of Polish and British researchers has found that tall men are more sexually attractive and have more children than shorter men. According to the study, bachelors are significantly shorter than married men, and that men who have sired at least one child are about 1½ inches taller than men without children.
