The Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor, manufactured from 1992 to 2011, has a top speed of 129 mph. As the name implies, the iconic cop car was actually a modified version of the Ford Crown Victoria sedan.
The reason it was to popular is because, after GM stopped producing the Caprice, it was the only rear-wheel drive sedan available of sufficient size and power to work for police use. The version made for police was specifically engineered and produced for that purpose in the Ford plant at St. Thomas, Ontario.
Feel free to go looking for one of those high-powered Crown Victoria Police Interceptor models, but they only have 239 horsepower, 11 fewer than a Kia minivan.
