Myopia 0.25 is the smallest degree of myopia, usually does not affect too much to daily life, study and work. If you have myopia of only 0.25 degrees, you can do normal activities without wearing glasses at all.
If your number is between -0.25 and -2.00, you have mild nearsightedness. If your number is between -2.25 and -5.00, you have moderate nearsightedness. If your number is lower than -5.00, you have high nearsightedness.
While 20/20 vision is considered the standard, it's important to know what bad vision is. If you were to have a visual acuity of 20/25, you typically won't need glasses or other corrective lenses. Corrective lenses wouldn't change your vision much nor improve your quality of life.
A low number like 0.25 means your eyes are not quite round and a higher number like 3.00 means your eyes are quite oval.
A difference of 0.25 diopters is very small and it would be noticeable when looking at the details, at the far distance of more than 6m, and/or under low lighting conditions.
What Level of Astigmatism Requires Glasses? You'll likely need glasses if your astigmatism has a strength of 1.0 or more. But even if your astigmatism needs less than 1.0 diopters of correction, it doesn't mean you won't need glasses.
0.25 is the smallest increment change in prescription glasses and in most cases an unnecessary change. However, some people are very sensitive and a change that small can be helpful, especially in reading glasses.
The lowest strength is usually 1.00 diopters. Glasses go up in strength by factors of . 25 (1.50, 1.75, 2.00). The strongest glasses are 4.00 diopters.
Most people have a mild prescription, between 0.5 to 0.75 D. They may not really notice it in their daily lives. People with a measurement of more than . 75 D may need contacts or eyeglasses to correct their vision to see clearly.
Blurry Vision
Difficulty focusing on blurred objects—far away or up close—may mean you need glasses. If you find it difficult to read street signs while driving or read text in books, you may benefit from eyeglasses or contacts.
20/200+: This means you have a significant vision issue. You will most likely need to wear glasses all the time. Your eye doctor may also recommend specific lenses to improve your overall sight.
0.2 D is hardly any power unless there is a typographical mistake! You may ignore if it is correct! If it is 2.00 D you should be wearing glasses as it will help equalising vision in both eyes. You may chose to undergo refractive surgery in case you do not want to wear spectacles.
0.25 change of power, in either lens is minimal and not worth further discussion. 0.50 difference tends to be more obvious but some patients can't be consistent there either.
Unfortunately, no. That is such a small amount of astigmatism that contact lens practitioners would not fit it, and most soft contact lens manufacturers do not offer options lower than . 75 cylinder.

What does it mean when your eye test says 0.50 in each eye? A 0.50 measurement is extremely mild, whether the sphere, cylinder or axis figure. If found in the cylinder or axis, this indicates a mild correction for astigmatism. The larger the measurement, the higher the correction needed.
This is true for moderate to severe astigmatism, since a survey of normal eyes shows that almost every human eye has a baseline corneal astigmatism of at least 0.25 to 0.50 diopters- in other words a small bit of mild astigmatism is very common and needs no treatment at all.
The World Health Organization defines “low vision” as visual acuity between 20/70 and 20/400, with the best possible correction, or a visual field of 20 degrees or less. “Blindness” is defined as a visual acuity worse than 20/400, with the best possible correction, or a visual field of 10 degrees or less.
Eye prescriptions change slowly over time. While there's no "bad" eye prescription, you can be "legally blind" when your prescription is 20/200 or worse. Different diseases can cause bad eyesight, some treatments can help improve your vision. There are many resources for blind people.
Zero SPH (0.00) means you have no refractive error. ( See plano below)
For nearsightedness the scale of diopters is given in increments of three and ranges from mild (less than –3.00 diopters) to moderate (–3.00 to –6.00 diopters) to severe (–6.00 to –9.00 diopters) To extreme (more than –9.00 diopters).
I was just talking to opticians (specsavers) who said a change of 0.5 or less does not warrant an update in glasses because anytime you get a test they allow for a variation of 0.5 or less anyway. As in, you could test yourself again and it be noted slightly differently by 0.5 or less and it wouldn't matter.
A 1.25 eye prescription means you need 1.25 diopters to correct your vision problem. This prescription is considered relatively mild, and you usually don't need corrective eyewear for it. However, different treatments are available for correcting a 1.25 eye prescription.
Visual Ability
Persons with 20/40 (0.5) visual acuity need 2x magnification. This does not mean, however, that they have lost 50% of their visual abilities. Clinicians have long used the expression “lines gained” or lines lost” to indicate changes in visual ability.
