However, Sean eventually admits to Alex that he is struggling with alcoholism, and signs over all custody of their daughter to her. Paula also eventually comes around to the move, and the season ends with her, Alex, and Maddy on a ferry ride to their new home.
He doesn't want to do that to her, so he decides to sign full custody over to Alex.

As Alex tries to grow her business as a maid, she begins writing about her clients and eventually joins a therapy group that has her imagine a better life for her and Maddy. This pushes Alex to apply to college in Missoula, Montana, where she was previously accepted before she got pregnant.
After she got full custody of her daughter, Alex finalises her plans to move to Montana. While Alex's mother Paula had later changed her mind and decided to come with her daughter and granddaughter, she can't quite follow through. Instead, just the mother and daughter board the ferry where they begin their new life.
The Maid is a murder mystery set in the Regency Grand, a luxury hotel, and is narrated by the protagonist, Molly Gray. Molly, AKA Molly the Maid, is a twenty-five year old woman on the autism spectrum with the additional trait of being obsessive-compulsive.
Paula is her mother, who is bipolar but refuses treatment, making her an inconsistent presence in her daughter and granddaughter's lives.
Alex and Izzie's love story seemingly came to an end when cancer survivor Izzie was last seen in Season 6 leaving Seattle after Alex refused to resume their marriage. Alex eventually moved on, marrying Jo Wilson (Camilla Luddington).
But, she is accompanied by her abusive boyfriend. Even though they see each other, Danielle pretends not to know Alex. After the encounter, viewers never see Danielle again.

Alex's childhood trauma of watching domestic abuse in her own home resurfaces when her partner Sean does the same to her.
While cleaning Regina's house, Alex receives a call from the University of Montana informing her that she is allowed to reapply for her previous creative writing scholarship. Yolanda fires Alex for stealing business from Value Maids but Regina offers Alex weekly shifts and a ferry pass, which Alex accepts.
Her writing earns her a scholarship at the University of Montana and Alex finally leaves her tortured past behind and begins again in Missoula, Montana.
She then introduces Maddie who starts her song before breaking down. Deacon and Daphne rush onto the stage to help her complete the song and afterwards Teddy approaches Deacon and tells him that since he still has three months left to serve he will give him guardianship of the girls.
Season Four
Maddie wishes to be emancipated and is granted it after lying about Deacon being abusive.
In the morning, the mold has gotten worse and underneath the paint is even more mold. This has a serious knock-on effect to Maddy's health, who ends up getting even more ill.
Nate wanted to date Alex in Maid, but she refused his advances; here's why that was the right choice for the struggling single mom to make.
So what happened to her? Well, we do see Danielle once more in Episode 5 ("Thief"), but she's accompanied by who we can assume is her abusive boyfriend, so she pretends not to know Alex. It's absolutely heart-wrenching, and we can only hope that she can get out of this abusive relationship going forward.
Shortly after she helped the survivors defend themselves from an Other attack, Alex and Danielle finally reunited. They both died shortly afterward.
Though she does not wish to get back together with Dave, she genuinely feels bad for hurting him, and the two eventually reconcile.
Knowing he pushed Bryce causing his death, Alex feels the truth looming over him. While discovering his sexuality, Alex kisses Zach and starts dating Winston Williams after Winston begins his investigation into who really killed Bryce.
Izzie's Cancer
Alex and Izzie got back together during season 5, but their relationship was rocky because Izzie was secretly battling cancer (and having sex with a ghost version of Denny.)
