In some cases, anxiety can affect one's ability to speak clearly and concisely when interacting with others, causing speech to be slower or faster than normal, and in some cases, speech can become jumbled or slurred.
At the very least, you might not be able to attribute “rude” behavior to anxiety. Unfortunately, this is often the case for people with anxiety. Their mental health disorder causes them to act in a way that appears inappropriate or rude to others. However, the person is only reacting to their symptoms.
Anxiety, especially if it crops up when you're in front of a lot of people, can lead to dry mouth, stumbling over your words, and more troubles that can get in the way of speaking. It's OK to be nervous. Don't worry so much about being perfect. Taking that pressure off of yourself might get your words flowing again.

Causes of aphasia
stroke – the most common cause of aphasia. severe head injury. a brain tumour. progressive neurological conditions – conditions that cause the brain and nervous system to become damaged over time, such as dementia.
Some of the most common symptoms of speech anxiety are: shaking, sweating, butterflies in the stomach, dry mouth, rapid heartbeat, and squeaky voice. Although it is often impossible to completely eliminate speech anxiety there are a variety of ways to deal with it and even make it work to your advantage.
Toxic stress response can occur when a child experiences strong, frequent, and/or prolonged adversity—such as physical or emotional abuse, chronic neglect, caregiver substance abuse or mental illness, exposure to violence, and/or the accumulated burdens of family economic hardship—without adequate adult support.
You may have feelings that need to be worked through, or you might be experiencing anxiety or stress. Of course, there are other reasons you may be angry as well. You could be stressed or be experiencing hunger. Take note of how often you are feeling anger, to determine if there is a pattern.

Usually, a nerve or brain disorder has made it difficult to control the tongue, lips, larynx, or vocal cords, which make speech. Dysarthria, which is difficulty pronouncing words, is sometimes confused with aphasia, which is difficulty producing language.
Aphasia is a symptom of some other condition, such as a stroke or a brain tumor. A person with aphasia may: Speak in short or incomplete sentences. Speak in sentences that don't make sense. Substitute one word for another or one sound for another.
People often report word-finding difficulties and other language disturbances when put in a stressful situation.
This is called cluttering. These changes in speech sounds are called disfluencies. Many people have a few disfluencies in their speech. But if you have a fluency disorder, you will have many disfluencies when you talk.
Dysarthria means difficulty speaking. It can be caused by brain damage or by brain changes occurring in some conditions affecting the nervous system, or related to ageing. It can affect people of all ages. If dysarthria occurs suddenly, call 999, it may be being caused by a stroke.
Aphasia is a communication disorder due to brain damage in one or more areas of the brain that control language. It can interfere with your verbal communication (getting words mixed up when speaking), written communication, or both. Aphasia can cause problems with your ability to: read.
Unwanted thoughts are one of the most common examples of false anxiety. Often time we as humans tend to be cynical, thinking about worst case scenarios, 'what if' thoughts so to speak. We tend to get so caught up in our thoughts that we end up getting trapped by them.
In many ways, most thoughts with anxiety can be described as “irrational.” Particularly unusual or irrational thoughts are typically a symptom of chronic or severe anxiety. Different types of anxiety cause different types of irrational thinking.
When we are more susceptible to stress, depression, or anxiety, our brains may be playing tricks on us. A cycle of continuing to look for what is wrong makes it easier to find what is wrong out there. It's called a confirmation bias.
