By the end of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,
Even though Peter and Gamora don't end up together in a romantic relationship in the end, the two reconcile and make peace with the past before Gamora returns to Ravagers and Star-Lord returns to Earth to be with his grandfather.
Respecting her wishes, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 serves as a farewell to the Original Gamora, as Peter and the fans get to realize that woman is dead and won't come back. Still, Gamora remains a complex and interesting character who could have many more stories to tell.
A quick, comedic scene in Vol. 3's Orgocorp heist teases some potential romance between Peter Quill and Nebula, but James Gunn claims that it was never going to become anything more (per The New York Times).
Quill and most of the other Guardians succumbed to The Snap shortly thereafter, returning five years later once the Hulk restored everyone during the events of Avengers: Endgame. Gamora, who was killed before The Snap, did not return with them.
Vision wasn't made in 2014, which is when Nat, Clint, Nebula, and Rhodes went. It's the same reason why Heimdall, Loki and Gamora also didn't came back by Hulk's snap! They died in Infinity War but not got snapped out of existence...
We know that Gamora wasn't at Tony Stark's funeral - unsurprising considering that she didn't know him, really - so she must have fled after the battle was won.
Technically, Peter Quill no longer has the traditional powers of a Celestial that Ego had.
In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Ego the Living Planet, Peter Quill / Star-Lord's biological father, is a Celestial who controls a humanoid avatar to travel the universe. His planetary form is a living extension of his Celestial consciousness.
Gamora was supposed to die back in Vol. 2, but Saldaña stuck around for more adventures. At least we know that Gamora and Peter Quill found love and true happiness in the end, which certainly exists outside of romantic relationships.
The filmmaker is exiting the MCU after directing three “Guardians” movies and is moving on to his new full-time job as the co-head of DC Studios, where he's building a new DC Universe across film, television and video games that includes a Superman movie he's writing and directing.
“I'm surprised that Gamora is as much in this installment because what had happened in Avengers: Infinity War,” star Zoe Saldaña explains, who reprises the character for the fifth time.
In the end, Peter and Gamora agree that they can't pick up any romance. Peter notes that Gamora has to be herself, and he can't force his feelings on her.
She Hooked Up With Iron Man
Tony Stark is a known "ladies' man," but when Gamora had a one night stand with him (if you can even call it that; it was much less than a night!), she may have put him in his place.
The scene's only purpose was to be comedic in nature and break the awkwardness of Star-Lord begging Gamora to be his girlfriend. In short, Star-Lord and Nebula are not a couple and will likely never be.
And, maybe most importantly for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, this version of Gamora never fell in love with Peter Quill. The Gamora who did love him died on Vormir, and not even the infinity stones can bring that Gamora back.
When Ego was killed, Peter Quill lost his connection to the light that gave him powers presented in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Even the director, James Gunn, revealed in a now-deleted Tweet that Peter isn't getting those powers back. That being said, perhaps he can awaken a different kind of power.
Still, by killing Ego, Star-Lord lost access to both his powers, regenerative healing factor, and immortality. So currently, Star-Lord is not immortal in the MCU, and in his current state, he would not be able to survive holding the Power Stone unharmed.
Portrayed by. Peter Jason Quill is a Celestial-Human hybrid who was abducted from Earth in 1988 by the Yondu Ravager Clan, and raised as one of their members, eventually building a reputation as the notorious intergalactic outlaw Star-Lord.
Peter Quill and his grandfather have a reunion
The final credits scene gives us a glimpse into Peter Quill's reunion with his grandfather (Gregg Henry). They last saw each other in 1988, and after spending all these years apart, the two finally get to be a family again.
Thanos is an Eternal, this means that he belongs to a race of ancient and superpowered beings created by Celestials. Thanos is, however, different than all other Eternals due to carrying a mutation in his genetic code which manifested as the condition known as Deviant Syndrome.
Gamora is one and only for Peter Quill
Since the Avengers: Infinity War, Quill deeply misses his girlfriend, but when Gamora from the past arrives in the present-day Guardians of the Galaxy, he hopes he can be with Gamora again.
He DIDN'T kiss his granddaughter. That would make Sharon Carter Peggy's granddaughter as well, which she is not. Sharon is Peggy's great-niece, meaning that, in the timeline where Cap marries Peggy, Sharon is his great-niece as well.
She was missing from phase 4 because Gamora's story was over, and she was kept in this prime timeline only because Gunn wanted to use her in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
The Gamora that has appeared again is from the period when she was yet to meet all the members of the Guardians of the Galaxy team. Hence, she doesn't know any of them and cannot recall the relationship with the Star-lord Peter Quill.
