After years of build up, Gotham finally revealed the name and face of its Joker. It was not, as many had assumed, Jerome Valeska. Instead, it was HIS TWIN BROTHER, Jeremiah.
Each twin adapts different characteristics of the DC Comics supervillain the Joker. Jerome is depicted as a chaotic, nihilistic character who spreads chaos in Gotham City until his eventual death, while Jeremiah is a cunning psychopath obsessed with tormenting Bruce Wayne.

After Jerome's death, Jeremiah discovered a gift in his secret office and opened it. The gift is revealed to be a jack-in-the-box in the form of a disfigured clown head that sprays Jeremiah with a special mixture of the laughing venom created by Jerome.
It took a death, a twin brother, a fall into a vat of chemicals, and a whole lot of spilled blood, but finally, Jeremiah was ready to claim his mantle as Gotham finally gave us the one, true Joker. In "The Beginning...," Bruce Wayne finally returns home after a decade of being away.
