Further, Luffy was able to bend reality with his upgraded Gear 5 powers in this form. He has the complete freedom to do anything according to his imagination as he can freely change the shape and size of his body and use all the types of haki freely too.
After entering Gear 2, Luffy uses Busoshoku Haki to harden his arm entering in Gear 2 Busō. He then stretches it back like Gomu Gomu no Bullet. When cocked back, Luffy's arm ignites, releasing a stream of fire in the process while he proceeds to deliver to his enemy a powerful flaming punch.
When utilizing Gear 4, Luffy makes extensive usage of his Busoshoku Haki by coating his arms, legs and much of his torso in it to the point that they turn black from hardening.
Luffy activates Gear 3 and covers both of his arms with Busoshoku Haki, and combines both Gomu Gomu no Storm and Elephant Gatling.
Gear 5 is only powerful because Luffy has great haki. If Luffy didn't have any haki, his Gear 5 attacks would literally do nothing to Kaido. All Gear 5 does is let Luffy more easily punch and tank attacks.
Luffy is close to Shanks in terms of power and it is only after their fight that he will officially be able to call himself stronger than Shanks.
The more he laughed, the better he seemed to fight. Throughout the clash against Kaido, fans could see him laughing even though he was fighting a high-intensity battle, which just goes to show how important it is to his character.
5 Armament Haki Subtype 4: Internal Destruction
The rarest subtype of Armament Haki, known as Internal Destruction, has only been demonstrated by two characters — Monkey D. Luffy and his mentor, Silvers Rayleigh.
In the fight against Kaido, Luffy finally tapped into what is his strongest transformation of all time and supposedly him at his peak – Gear 5.
He is a specialist of Observation Haki, Ryuo, and also Conqueror's Haki. Among all the Haki types, however, Luffy is especially skilled at using Conqueror's Haki, which is his best Haki type.
The concept of power up Gears has been a core part of the One Piece franchise and allowed Luffy to take on the most difficult of foes. Fans speculate Gear 6 is inevitable – and with the series winding up to its conclusion, it could play a pivotal part in the final conflict.
He is proficient in both Armament and Observation Haki, as well as one of the few known characters who possess Conquerors Haki.

Conqueror's Haki is one of the rarest powers to exist in the One Piece world. Unlike the other two Haki forms, this power isn't accessible by everyone but exists within only a chosen few. Its basic level allows the user to intimidate and overwhelm those who have weaker wills.
Gear Third is activated by Monkey D. Luffy by biting into his thumb and inflating his body through his bones. With the bones growing larger and stronger, Luffy is granted immense strength, capable of shattering a Marine battleship in a single blow.
Gear 10th Luffy is Luffy's ultimate form from the upcoming speculative fan-made sequel to One Piece, Son of the Pirate King. Luffy has continuously trained his haki and Devil Fruit powers during his time as Pirate King until he achieved this gear.
Gomu Gomu no Gigant
In Gear 3, he can gigantify his arms. However, Luffy's Gear 5 allows him to expand to the size of a real giant. Since his body is proportionately massive, he can use his usual techniques with much more strength behind them.
Gear 5 ("Gear Fifth") is the awakened form of the Gomu Gomu no Mi, which strengthens the user's rubbery body. It also allows the user the ability to manipulate and transform their environment, similar to a Paramecia's awakening. Luffy achieved this ability during his final battle with Kaidou on Onigashima.
Monkey D. Luffy has mastered all three types of haki, including Kenbunshoku Haki (Observation Haki), Busoshoku Haki (Armament Haki), and Haoshoku Haki (Conqueror's Haki). He can even use several subforms of the hakis, which makes him one of the most powerful haki users in the One Piece world.
Nami's Conqueror's Haki
Once awakened to it, Haki can be manifested as the Color of Observation and the Color of Armament. The Color of Observation grants a certain sixth sense to the user and allows them to sense things like incoming danger, power levels, intent, and emotions, among many other things.
At Wano, Nami is sure to encounter some of the strongest foes in the series. Eiichiro Oda will likely give Nami the ability to use Haki when that moment arrives.

While the effects of this technique have been mitigated in post-time-skip One Piece thanks to training, the prior uses have already caused irreversible damage to his body. Luffy dies from gear 5th strain on his heart and law gives up his life so they can win. This causes Luffy to go into gears without dying.
