You aren't able to uninstall edge as this is part of the operating system, however chrome will give you the option to set it as the default browser once installed.

Microsoft has confirmed that it will end its support for the Internet Explorer browser on all Windows operating systems. That means users will no longer receive new updates of IE when it goes out of life.
