Max, Nick and Laura are the only protagonists who always get infected and turn into werewolves. Emma, Dylan, and Jacob are the only protagonists who can get infected and able to turn into werewolves. Abigail, Ryan, and Kaitlyn are the only protagonists who can get infected, but never turn into werewolves.
Following the attack of werewolf Caleb in the woods, Nick gets covered in blood and has a bite on his leg. Upon arrival at the lodge, however, he is cleaned and his wound is healed. In Chapter 6, Abigail accidentally pushes Nick in the pool, causing him to soak until the end of the chapter.
Silas, the original Werewolf, bites Caleb in the process. Regardless of choices throughout the game, Nick from The Quarry becomes a Werewolf after being bitten by Werewolf Caleb in chapter 3. There is no way to prevent him from getting infected in chapter 3 and turning into a Werewolf in chapter 6.
To do this, Caleb, the werewolf who bit Nick, must be killed. You can do this in many ways, but the best one is probably locking the creature in a freezer by Kaitlyn and Dylan. The Quarry is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
Nick is the closest thing to an Everyman in The Quarry, with him being fairly unremarkable in terms of defining character traits. He's considered by the group as a nice guy with many of the characters rooting for him and Abigail to finally act upon their mutual crush.
When Abigail and Nick meet up in the woods during Chapter 3, they will be attacked by a werewolf. Here, Nick gets unavoidably bitten, which passes on the infection and will cause him to turn into a werewolf.
If we kiss him, the exchange between Nick and Abi will end, starting the next part of the scene (you can skip to it here). However, if we don't kiss him, we'll get a little more dialogue that fleshes out Abi and Nick's relationship while still getting the option to kiss him later.
Abigail, Ryan, and Kaitlyn are the only protagonists who can get infected, but never turn into werewolves. The former is because she is always cured, and the latter two is because they get infected too late to transform.
It's no secret that The Quarry's Abigail and Nick have feelings for one another. Depending on the parameters selected, players can also make them lovers or keep them as friends. Due to their mutual shyness, Abi and Nick find it challenging to express their sentiments or even flirt with one another.
The Monsters Explained in The Quarry
Next, we will see this with our own eyes when Nick turns into a monster after being bitten by a werewolf. Werewolves turn from humans into monsters on a full moon. At the moment of transformation, a man explodes, and a monster appears inside him.
Silas Vorez is the main antagonist of The Quarry. He is a unique werewolf that prowls the forest, attacking or infecting nearly anyone he comes across, also cursing others to become werewolves themselves.
Nick and Abigail both have crushes each other at the beginning of the game, but are too shy to make any move. However, Nick soon is given the perfect opportunity to try to show his feelings to Abigail as they gather kindling.
Sadly, that is not possible in all cases. A perfect example of that is Nick, the unlucky lad who is first to face the nightmares of Hackett's Quarry. While talking to Abi in the woods, they will be attacked by a werewolf. Nick will be bitten, there is no way to change that.
Every character in The Quarry can be saved, even Nick. It may seem a little odd, since his fate seems determined pretty early on in the game, but all that players need to do is make the right decisions.
Unfortunately, should you not agree to free Jacob when prompted in Chapter 8, you will later sacrifice him to werewolf Nick in the cage beside him when the power is turned off.
Make it to Silas and break the curse
Finally, when given the option to kill or spare Silas, have Laura break the curse by shooting the creature. This will mean any characters who remain infected will be cured and freed. And that's how you end up getting the best ending in The Quarry.
In short, there is no one true ending in The Quarry, as the game encourages you to test different choices and decisions throughout alternate playthroughs as you attempt to seek out as many of the 186 ending variations as possible. The community also widely agrees that there is no bad or good ending to The Quarry.
Since the lodge has a broken door, the other counselors can sneak in and hide without issue, which causes the monsters to focus on the hut instead. It is still possible to save Dylan if the monster bites his hand by using Ryan to amputate it before the infection spreads.
Players must not shoot Nick or the Achievement won't be gained. After that, Nick transforms into a werewolf and attacks Abi. He slams her to the wall many times, crushing her body, and then bites her head off, thus brutally killing his crush. When the cutscene ends, people will receive the Lovers' Quarrel Achievement.

Our two lead characters, Ginger and Brigitte, are sisters who depend on one another. Ginger is the life raft Brigitte clings to, but then Ginger gets bitten and transforms into this murderous werewolf.
If Emma dies in Chapter Eight, it is because she got infected in Chapter Four. She is discovered in the van by Kaitlyn, and Emma is a transformed into a werewolf.
Christopher "Chris" Hackett is a supporting character and a secondary antagonist as a werewolf in The Quarry.
Kaitlyn will dare Emma to kiss either Jacob or Nick. Jacob confidently declares that Emma would choose him, but she instead chooses Nick, much to Jacob's shock. As they kiss for a long time, Jacob gets increasingly infuriated and yells at them. After the kiss, Emma thanks Nick and tells Abi that he was good.
Sometimes Ryan won't notice his flirting, other times he'll show interest and flirt back. If Ryan chooses to kiss Dylan for a Dare, Dylan is happy; if he kisses Kaitlyn, a message will show on screen saying Dylan is disappointed.
Both Kaitlyn and Dylan have a crush on Ryan, made evident by Dylan's furtive flirting alongside Kaitlyn outwardly stating it to Jacob in Chapter 1. Ryan himself mentions later on that he doesn't mind the attention he receives from either of them, hinting that he isn't attracted to just a single gender.
