As you can see, both Nexgard and Simparica are extremely good and effective flea and tick treatment and they do not have a major difference between them. But that being said, Simparica does kill an additional tick specie and is relatively faster in eliminating fleas and ticks.
Once you have dewormed your puppy, you'll probably want to know how long your dog will continue to poop worms. Puppies will typically poop worms for 2-3 days after they have been dewormed.
How long until roundworms are gone in dogs? It takes approximately four weeks for roundworms to be treated with dewormer. The infective larvae and eggs can survive in your dog for a long time time and are particularly resistant to changes in conditions in the body.

This study demonstrated that Simparica Trio (sarolaner, pyrantel, moxidectin) was well tolerated when administered to heartworm-positive dogs at 1× and 3× the maximum recommended dose at 28-day intervals for 3 consecutive months.
Simparica Trio has not demonstrated efficacy against whipworms or tapeworms in dogs or puppies.
Nexgard Spectra, Credelio Plus, and Simparica Trio cover fleas, heartworm, intestinal worms - and ticks. The only major parasite that none of them cover is the hydatid tapeworm - this is spread via consumption of infected animal carcasses or raw offal.
SIMPARICA TRIO should be administered year‑round at monthly intervals or started at least one month before fleas become active. To minimize the likelihood of flea re‑infestation, it is important to treat all dogs and cats within a household with a flea control product.
Dog worms are generally treatable, so long as they are diagnosed, arrested and treated before the onset of advanced stages of infestation. Your veterinarian can prescribe the proper deworming medication (anthelmintic), along with the appropriate administration protocol, based on the parasite and extent of infestation.
Adult dogs
A worming treatment every three months is usually enough to prevent problems from developing. It may be necessary to deworm your dog slightly more regularly if they scavenge a lot. Remember to protect your dog against lungworm as well as intestinal (gut) worms.
Intestinal worms are common parasites of dogs but luckily it is rare for people to develop illness from worms that affect dogs. If you are concerned about your health and any symptoms that develop it's always best to consult your doctor.
The Deworming Process after a Few Days
Some intestinal worms, like hookworms and whipworms, are so small that you won't see any worms in your dog's stool at all. You may be surprised to still see live worms in your dog's feces after deworming them, but this is normal.

Some dewormer medications will dissolve the worms in the dog's intestinal system, while others will paralyze them. In those instances, the paralyzed worms will detach themselves from the intestinal tissue and may eventually be found in the dog's vomit or stool.
How does Simparica Trio work? Simparica contains three active substances: sarolaner, moxidectin and pyrantel. Sarolaner acts as an 'ectoparasiticide'. This means that it kills parasites present on the skin or in the fur of animals, such as fleas and ticks.
Results: Simparica Trio was generally well tolerated. Emesis occurred at low frequency in all groups including control. Abnormal stool occurred occasionally in the 1× and 3× groups throughout the 3-month study.
Simparica Trio is considered safe for dogs as young as eight weeks old who weigh at least 2.8 pounds. However, the product has not been evaluated in breeding, pregnant, or lactating dogs.
