WASHINGTON (TND) — The Joker, a major villain in the DC comics universe universally known as the archenemy of legendary superhero Batman, becomes pregnant and gives birth in the latest issue of his spinoff comic book series.
Believe it or not, this tale saw the Clown Prince of Crime himself become pregnant and give birth to a child. The mother of the child? That was none other than DC's famous magical hero Zatanna, who cast a spell on the Joker after he tried to persuade her to start a family with him.
Duela Dent frequently appears in the Tiny Titans series as the Joker's Daughter. She often antagonizes Robin, who informs her in Tiny Titans #17 that there are no clowns allowed at his birthday party.
While it's the first time the Joker has been pregnant, it's not the first time he has had a child. In one comic, Injustice: Gods Among Us, Harley Quinn reveals she gave birth to the Joker's child, Lucy Quinzel, but gave them up for adoption.
"The latest issue of 'The Joker: The Man Who Stopped Laughing' comic book features a scene where The Joker—a MAN—becomes pregnant.
Lucy Quinzel is the daughter of the Joker and Harley Quinn and the niece of Delia Quinzel.
For example, a DC comic character by the name of Duela Dent went by the moniker "Joker's Daughter" for a bit, alleging the iconic clown was her father. However, that turned out not to be the case. She was then revealed to actually be the daughter of Batman villain Harvey "Two-Face" Dent, at least for a while.
Leaving the newborn baby Lucy with her sister, Harley returned to Gotham only to realize that not only did the Joker not realize she was pregnant, he didn't even care to notice she left at all.
The Joker does not reciprocate her love and is in fact incapable of romantic emotion as he sees people only as tools to further his own plans. Harley is in denial of this fact and prefers to view him as an antihero until she eventually has to come face-to-face with his complete disregard for her.
Fans have speculated that the baby clothes implied that the Joker may have murdered babies off-screen. Fortunately, the answer is less gruesome than that. On Twitter, Ayer revealed that they're more of a reference to Harley Quinn, more specifically, Harley's desire to have a family with the Joker.
When he opens a letter she's addressed to him, he sees a handwritten note that describes Arthur as Thomas' son, suggesting that the Joker and Batman are half brothers.
Penny Fleck was the adoptive mother of Arthur Fleck, a mentally unstable failed comedian who would later call himself the Joker. Much like her son, Penny suffered from an unspecified mental illness.

Here's another good one: In this weekend's animated sequel Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Issa Rae's Spider-Woman, aka Jessica Drew, is the first pregnant superhero to hit the big screen in a major comic book movie.
He experienced physical abuse and neglect by his stepfather. He was adopted by a woman who was living with her own mental illness, which prevented her from being the nurturing force he needed. These relationships could have made him feel safe and protected and buffered his trauma, but instead were limited and empty.
One of Joker's big twist occurs when Arthur's “dates” Sophie only to find out that those flirty conversations and their eventual hookup were completely in his imagination.
After years of build up, Gotham finally revealed the name and face of its Joker. It was not, as many had assumed, Jerome Valeska. Instead, it was HIS TWIN BROTHER, Jeremiah.
As he sets off to finally stop Batman once and for all—this time through legal means—he comes to terms with how terribly he treated Harley when he was out of his mind. In issue #2, Jack proposes to Harley, and she accepts.
Harley Quinn's actual name is established in Mad Love as Harleen Frances Quinzel.
In the latest issue of Flashpoint Beyond #5, the Joker's real name has been revealed: Jack Oswald White. This is something that fans of DC and the character have greatly appreciated, and that is that the identity of the Joker is something that many have always tried to find out.
