It doesn't happen often, but Godzilla has lost to the humans more than once in his movies. In fact, they've managed to defeat him seven times. It's a rare occurrence, but there have been situations in the Godzilla franchise where the humans actually got the best of the kaiju.
Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla
In 1954, Godzilla appeared and laid waste to Tokyo before being killed by Daisuke Serizawa's Oxygen Destroyer. In the decades that followed, Japan was frequently attacked by giant monsters, including Mothra and Gaira.
1) Hulk. Hulk is a no-brainer. His power increases as his anger rise, which would get him to a point where he could essentially lift Godzilla off the ground and toss him. And since the Hulk was created from gamma radiation exposure at high levels, Godzilla's atomic breath would have minimal effect on him.
Godzilla is impervious to conventional weaponry, therefore. However, futuristic weapons like several lasers and extraterrestrial energy weapons have been shown to damage him in the past.
Knowing that his brother was dead, Zeus summoned The Hydra to defend his home. Godzilla quickly defeated The Hydra by driving it into Mount Olympus, the impact of which brought the mountain down on top of it, killing it and every Olympian except for Zeus.
Invented by Dr. Serizawa, the Oxygen Destroyer is remembered as the weapon that killed Godzilla in the monster's big-screen debut in 1954. Its role in the movie confirmed that despite Godzilla's power level, humans are indeed capable of taking him down by technological means.
Through more than 60 years of cinematic history, the Japanese pop culture icon has appeared in over 30 live-action movies at this point. However, he's only actually died in four of them. True to his title, Godzilla typically prevails in most of his fights - even when he's the main villain.
King Ghidorah is considered Godzilla's greatest rival and for good reason. He's bigger, badder, and stronger than any other kaiju Godzilla has fought. Being able to fly and having three heads, King Ghidorah proves to be a lot to handle and Godzilla usually needs aid from others to be able to take him down.
King Ghidorah has been Godzilla's arch rival since 1964 and is always battling for dominance for king of the monsters. * King Ghidorah is one of the few monsters who can pose an actual challenge to Godzilla.
While Godzilla has had many wild adventures in film, nothing can top the comic book series where the King of Monsters kills both God and Satan. Far from a typical Kaiju brawl though, Godzilla's trek through the afterlife is weird in a way that readers can only get from the world of comic books.
Anguirus
Godzilla's first foe, the legendary Anguirus. Another quadruped, Anguirus has a much more prehistoric look to him, taking many features from the Ankylosaur. He has a long snout like a crocodile and a turtle-shell back covered in spikes.
The King of the Monsters wrote: Godzilla himself doesn't eat, he feeds on radiation. His species, on the other hand, is most likely omnivorous, as Godzilla Junior fed on plants and meat when he was young. Once he was a sub-adult, he even ate whales.
Fuji as well for a decisive confrontation. During the battle, Godzilla fights valiantly against Hedorah, but is overpowered by the amorphous alien, losing an eye and having his hand burnt to the bone by Hedorah's acidic body tissues, which corrodes anything it comes into contact with.
Despite the fact that Godzilla has battled dozens of monsters and won, King Kong gets the point here for actually defeating Godzilla in King Kong vs. Godzilla. What makes Kong's win impressive is that he got the win away from home against a larger, stronger opponent.
Godzilla was the actual winner of both battles between Godzilla and King Kong, but after Kong helped him defeat Mechagodzilla, Godzilla left Kong alone after the primate king dropped the ax. When Kong did that, Godzilla knew Kong was no longer a threat to him, and both seemingly accepted each other.
Destoroyah may not be the most powerful foe Godzilla ever faced, but he is the cruelest, the most vicious, and the most evil. He looks like a demon, and he fits the bill. He's the only monster in the franchise to laugh at Godzilla during the fight.
