He beat a guy (forget the name) in season 5 of clone wars, and he beat
In the film's climax, Maul duels Qui-Gon and his apprentice Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor). He is able to kill Qui-Gon and knock Obi-Wan down a shaft, but Kenobi propels himself out of the pit and uses Qui-Gon's lightsaber to bisect Maul, sending the two parts of his body falling down the shaft.
He lost to Sidious because Sidious outclassed him in every way when it came to lightsaber combat and he grossly underestimated Obi-Wan several times, which led to Obi-Wan defeating him time and time again.
Using his double-bladed lightsaber, Maul held off both Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui-Gon Jinn in the heart of the Theed Royal Palace.
By the time of Episode 3; Anakin is in his prime, and already one of the Jedi Order's most powerful “masters” (although technically still a knight), just behind Obi-Wan, Windu, and Yoda. Maul wouldn't stand a chance. Anakin stomps.
Having trained in the ways of the Force, Darth Maul was a formidable warrior strong with the dark side and possessed deadly skills in lightsaber combat. In addition, he was a scheming mastermind who plotted his return to power despite losing his place in the ranks of the Sith.
Vader, obviously. Darth Maul may be superior physically (what with the having 4 limbs and all), but Vader has mastered the dark side of the force. Also Obi Wan defeated Darth Maul, and Vader defeated Obi Wan. Having said all that, I LOVE Darth Maul, and wish there were some way to bring him back for another episode.
That's just their lightsaber skill discrepancy. Maul and Savage are no match for Sidious' aptitude, knowledge, and skill with the force.
Darth maul would beat kylo ren no doubt he held his fight pretty long against two Jedi and kylo ten got trained by Luke who didn't have that much training. Maul was trained from a very young age and killed a fully trained Jedi master who was 40 years older than him.
Like his master, Darth Sidious, better known as Sheev Palpatine, Maul's main weakness was his overconfidence. In Luke Skywalker's confrontation with Palpatine during The Return of the Jedi, he tells the Emperor that his overconfidence is his weakness.

Darth Maul and Obi-Wan's long-standing rivalry started in Episode 1 and lasted all the way until Star Wars: Rebels. Throughout his lifetime, Maul seemed to hate Kenobi! Every time Maul says Kenobi.
Darth Maul died during a final battle with Obi-Wan in the Rebels TV series, and Palpatine couldn't have cared less. For him, finding and killing Maul for his failure simply wasn't worth the effort.
Darth Vader defeats Darth Maul. The two Sith Lords engaged in a lightsaber duel, going through the volcano and onto a bridge situated over a river of lava, which collapsed, though they both survived and continued their battle.
9 Darth Maul
The Dathomirian Sith Lord is without a doubt one of the best Sith in Star Wars history.
Due to his proficient skills within the force, Yoda is also an incredibly skilled lightsaber combatant. He is one of the highest-ranking Jedi in the Jedi council. Because of his Force sensitivity, Yoda would easily be able to evade Maul's attacks.
Today, however, Obi-Wan Kenobi director Deborah Chow says she believes that was never actually the case. In an interview for Total Film magazine, as first reported by GamesRadar, Chow says, "As long as I've been involved, we've never had Darth Maul in any of it."
Top-tier Jedi and some Jedi with specific advantages against Vader (OT Luke, Obi-Wan) could beat him by themselves.
Ren was good but Rey was able to beat him every time they fought. However, he wasn't even fully trained and even he would have had a massive problem fighting Maul. Even in his older age, Maul was still way more skilled than anyone Rey faced and that would be the end for her. Maul would just be too much for Rey.
In the main Star Wars canon, Darth Vader and Darth Maul never met, let alone fought. When Obi-Wan Kenobi defeated Darth Maul in Star Wars: Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace, Anakin was still a kid and just joined the recently crowned Jedi Knight as his apprentice.
“Thought dead, Darth Maul survived his injuries by focusing on his hatred of Obi-Wan Kenobi, the Jedi who cut him in half.
Even though they were both trained by Palpatine, Dooku and his predecessor, Maul have been enemies every since his mind was restored by Mother Talzin. This is because the two hated each other. Dooku despises Maul for being a threat to him and Maul hated Dooku for being his replacement.
Windu would win. The reasoning is pretty simple, Windu was able to fight evenly and eventually overpower Sidious, while Maul got handled pretty easily while fighting alongside his brother.
Vader, the only power who overrules him is papa Palpatine. The reason why Vader obeyed tarkin was out of a sense of respect for him as a military leader, not as his superior.
