Spider-Man and Venom were able to barely defeat the mad symbiote and have teamed up many times to defeat Carnage.
Once they discovered the existence of the Carnage symbiote, one of Earth's most powerful symbiotes, on Earth, they attempted to assimilate it. After joining the Poisons, Carnage had an intense battle with both Venom and Spider-Man. After nearly murdering both of them, Spidey and Venom were barely able to defeat him.
Can Spider-Man take on Carnage (and win) without Venom's help? Yes, he can defeat Carnage without Venom's help.
Unsurprisingly, Spider-Man has bonded with the Carnage symbiote on a few different occasions. While the Marvel Universe's Peter Parker hasn't become Carnage yet, some other versions of Peter Parker and another Marvel Universe Spider-Man found themselves bonded with this vicious symbiote.
The son of Carnage, Toxin, was believed to be the most powerful symbiote ever created. The raw power of Toxin was so great that he was feared even by the King in Black, Knull, creator and leader of the symbiotes.
Blue Symbiote (2) (Agony): In the comics Agony was one of the symbiotes forcibly spawned from Venom alongside several others by the Life Foundation.
Weaknesses. Like most other Symbiotes, it is vulnerable to sound and fire. However Carnage doesn't mind heat as long as it's the one making it.
After a massive showdown at the end of Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Venom defeats Carnage and eats him - but some viewers have wondered if the consumption will have any impact on Venom's strength. Comic book enthusiasts were clamoring for the on-screen face-off between the symbiotes, and the movie didn't disappoint.
Carnage nearly defeated Spider-Man until Bentime tricked Carnage into reverting into human form, enabling Spider-Man to knock out Kasady with one punch. The Carnage symbiote was supposedly destroyed in conflict, and Kasady was sent back to Ryker's Island, where he unexpectedly transformed during his time.
Spider-Man is smarter than Juggernaut, so that has helped him in the fights but he's never been able to actually beat Juggernaut. Few heroes are actually tough enough to beat Juggernaut. Spider-Man has done better than most single heroes in a battle against the unstoppable one, which is saying something.
For almost the entirety of Carnage's existence he's had two weaknesses that all symbiotes share: fire and sound waves.
Which Avenger can beat Carnage? The best chances are iron man, Thor, Scarlett witch, and black venom. Carnage has bitten through adamantium but not vibranium so enough kinetic blasts might work. Scarlett witch can just wipe him from existence.
While Venom was built up a good bit before his confrontation, his first defeat is rather underwhelming. Spider-Man was able to beat him by taking advantage that Venom's webbing is created from the symbiote itself. Venom used enough webbing that there not is enough symbiote left over to effectively bond with Eddie.
After spending so long with Spider-Man as its host, the symbiote is able to mimic all his abilities, which is why Venom has all the same powers as Spider-Man, only amplified. This means that Venom is stronger and faster than the web-slinger, not to mention far more brutal.
Marvel's Hulk took on the strongest symbiote Spider-Man and shockingly proved to be no match against the web-slinger's latest power-up. Few Marvel Comics heroes stand a chance in a fight against the Hulk, but Spider-Man just showed with an incredible, magical power-up, the gamma monster can be defeated.
His symbiote is corrupted and evolved, making Carnage even stronger than both Venom and Spider-Man.
Carnage is an alien symbiote that was accidentally transported to an alternate reality by a device created by Kingpin in the universe. It was summoned when Ben Reilly, a.k.a. Scarlet Spider, was trying to stop Kinpin in his plans but was interrupted by his clone, Peter Parker.
The Venom symbiote eventually found Eddie and reunited with him, unknowingly leaving behind its offspring. This offspring eventually bonded to Kasady's blood through a small cut, making the Carnage symbiote have its red appearance, which resulted in Carnage being more powerful than Venom.
It could be that in the universe of the Venom movies, this type of strong bond is already known among the symbiotes to result in stronger specimens. This could explain why Venom is so fearful of facing an enemy with a ruddy hue.
In order to defeat the mad symbiote, Spidey usually has to enlist the help of his greatest allies — whether that be the Fantastic Four or his on-again-off-again ally in Venom. Spider-Man does what it takes to stop Carnage, even if it means compromising with villains like Venom.
While in prison, Venom produces an offspring named Carnage. (He reproduces asexually, in case you were wondering.) Venom doesn't tell Eddie about it, and Venom and Eddie escape prison. Once they're gone, Carnage bonds with Cletus.
While Eddie Brock's Venom may not be the strongest here, he is recognizable and the most resilient Symbiote compared to many others. Even though he started out as a pure villain, Brock's Venom showed many heroic traits.
