Best Picture nominee Bohemian Rhapsody is a true story based on the life of singer Freddie Mercury. That said, it does take some liberties with the story, simplifying many aspects to keep the story moving and to make it a bit more flashy.
Freddie wasn't diagnosed as HIV positive before Live Aid
The biggest incident of dramatic license in Bohemian Rhapsody is the timing of Freddie Mercury's HIV diagnosis. In a heart-breaking scene, the singer tells his bandmates that he has the condition at a rehearsal for Live Aid.
Rami himself has revealed that he is lip-syncing, but it's not just Freddie's voice that we hear. "It is an amalgamation of a few voices," he told the Metro US. "But predominantly it is my hope and the hope of everyone that we will hear as much Freddie as possible. I think that is the goal for all of us."
Since the band actually helped contribute to the film, it seems that they've always been pro-Bohemian Rhapsody. Brian May, the Queen guitarist who was involved in the production, raved about the cast and crew, particularly Rami.
Paul Prenter died from AIDS in August of 1991, just three months before Freddie Mercury succumbed to the very same syndrome.
Three years after Freddie's death, Jim published a book about his time with the singer titled Mercury and Me. He worked as Freddie's gardener after moving into the singer's Kensington mansion, and preferred to stay away from the rock and roll lifestyle.
Henry James Beach (born March 9, 1942 in Gloucester) is the long-time manager of the British rock band Queen and its individual members. He was nicknamed "Miami" by the band members, a play on his surname. He took over as manager of the band in 1978 after he had acted on their behalf as a lawyer.
Here Freddie is really delving into biblical concepts and a terrible struggle is occurring between God, the Devil & Freddie. Bismillah is an Arabic phrase which means, “in the name of God”. Freddie is pleading to be let go to live his life and be who he is. He repeats mama mia and asks her to let him go also.
Bismillah, along with the Ta'awwudh, is used to fend off supernatural beings like devils and jinn. In the song, the soloist tries to escape, "Let me go, let me go, bismillah, bismillah," while the chorus sings the part of the devil, "No I will not let you go."
Queen Still Hasn't Made Any Money Off 'Bohemian Rhapsody'
“We thought it would do well in the end, we felt good about it, but we didn't realize it would do that well,” May said in a recent interview on BBC Radio 2's The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show.
Freddie left Jim Hutton, Joe and Peter £500,000 each. He left one quarter of his future earnings from Queen to his parents and another quarter to his sister. Apart from some minor bequests, everything else went to Mary.
As somewhat of a method actor, Rami Malek knew the teeth would play a major role in nailing Mercury's manner of speaking, covering his lips and smiling frequently during interviews, so even before officially agreeing to the role, Malek asked for a pair of prosthetics a year prior to filming.
Was Live Aid Freddie Mercury's last performance? The Live Aid concert happened on July 13th, 1985, but his last live performance was a year later at Knebworth Park on August 9th, 1986. Freddy Mercury didn't die until November 24th, 1991.
FREDDIE MERCURY died 31 years ago today. While seriously Ill, he shot the video for THESE ARE THE DAYS OF OUR LIVES. Knowing this would be his last time on film, he asked for another take of his last words: "I still love you.”
BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY by Queen
But let's face it, Bohemian Rhapsody is just impossible to sing by yourself because of those multiple voices that are essential to the song. So, we recommend you take some friends with you, grab the mic, and just bring it on.

Mary is one of the main characters in the movie Bohemian Rhapsody, in which she is played by actress Lucy Boynton. The real-life Mary Austin still lives in the West London mansion where Freddie died from an AIDS-related illness in 1991. It was only last year that she finally took down tributes to the late singer.
'Bohemian Rhapsody' WAS Freddie's confessional. It was about how different his life could have been, and how much happier he might have been, had he just been able to be himself, the whole of his life. The world heard this song as a masterpiece of imagination, a great command of musical styles.
Some parts of “Bohemian Rhapsody” were being developed by Freddie Mercury in the 1960s. The recording of the song began in August 1975 and took about three weeks. The single was released in October 1975 in the U.K. and December in the U.S. It became the biggest-selling hit in the U.K. in 1975 and reached No.
Narrator: One of the reasons why "Bohemian Rhapsody" sounds so different is in its structure. The song is neither an a cappella, a ballad, an opera or rock. It's actually all of them in one song.
It was said to be one of the Queen crew who turned up the volume on the mixing board (and probably even the amplifiers on stage). None of the other artist's crew weren't allowed to go up a specific volume level, but Queen's crew defied that rule.

What was Freddie Mercury's Net Worth? Freddie Mercury was a British singer/songwriter and musician who had a net worth of $50 million dollars at the time of his death in 1991 (after adjusting for inflation).
However, on his death, Freddie only left Jim £500,000 ($1million at the time of his death) and left most of his wealth to his first love, Mary Austin. It has been reported that Jim believed Freddie intended to leave him the house, however Freddie's former assistant Peter Freestone said this was unlikely the case.
