Losing 2 kgs per week is no easy task, but doable for many people. You just have to know the formula and know how to count calories. Caloric deficit is what you need to decrease your weight up to 2kgs a week. You should burn more calories than what is consumed on a specific day, that's the basics of it.
Eat 5 meals a day
Consume a heavy protein-packed breakfast, and eat your fruits in the first half of the day and not in the afternoon since they are high on sugar. Ensure to eat a light dinner at least two hours before bedtime to give your body time to metabolize it.
To lose 2 pounds per week, you'd need to burn 1,000 calories more than you eat each day. You can do this through diet and exercise. However, this may not be healthy or ideal for many people. It's important to understand the risks and what your individual calorie needs are first.
It is realistic, ladies. Dietitian explains.

According to many experts, losing 1–2 pounds (0.45–0.9 kg) per week is a healthy and safe rate (1, 2, 3 ). Losing more than that is considered too fast and could put you at risk of many health problems, including muscle loss, gallstones, nutritional deficiencies and a drop in metabolism ( 4 , 6 , 7 , 8 ).
You should aim for 10,000 to 12,000 steps per day, but remember diet is key to losing weight. Can I lose 2kg a week with intermittent fasting? Yes. Typically people chose a period of time during the day that you will fast which will last 16 to 20 hours.
Consume sufficient amount of protein such as egg whites, meat, pulses which are low in carbs etc. Exercise for at least 40 minutes a day, because only a diet is not going to help you achieve your goal. Your exercises could be interspersed with your daily activities such as walking or jogging.
Try to include a burst of high-intensity activities in your regular aerobic exercises. For example, when you are walking, run for five minutes, and then again continue to walk. This burns more calories. Zumba, aerobics, and swimming are good options for rapid weight loss.
Unintentional weight loss is when you lose weight without changing your diet or exercise routine. It can be a sign of stress or a serious illness. See a GP just in case.
But do you really know what's realistic? Over the long term, it's smart to aim for losing 1 to 2 pounds (0.5 to 1 kilogram) a week. Generally to lose 1 to 2 pounds a week, you need to burn 500 to 1,000 calories more than you consume each day, through a lower calorie diet and regular physical activity.
People who lose weight or plan to lose weight wonder how many calories they need to burn to lose 1 kg. According to studies, for every 1 kg of weight loss, 7700 calories are needed, or 1000 calories are lost 0.13 kg.
You can achieve part of this deficit by walking 1 hour per day or by gradually decreasing the number of calories you consume. Depending on your calorie intake, a deficit of 500 calories per day may lead to 0.5–2 pounds (0.2–0.9 kg) of weight loss per week ( 10 ).
Most people need a calorie deficit of around 500 calories per day to lose half a kilo per week. Thus, people aiming to lose weight should exercise for at least 150-200 minutes per week and walk 10,000 steps per day to achieve their weight loss goals.
