Stylists recommend medium-length or longer hair for a round face because it elongates your face shape. Keeping your hair below the chin draws attention away from the jaw line.
“Round-shaped faces should avoid blunt haircuts and short hairstyles that will only make their face appear even rounder,” says Udoh. She notes that “styles such as a blunt bob or other blunt cut will shorten the appearance of your face and make it appear wider,” which is never the goal.
As far as hairstyles that make your face look thinner go, long hair is one of the easiest options. "Long hair instantly slims most face shapes. Think about getting semi-permanent hair extensions to speed up the process," says Lopez.
Parting your hair in the middle allows your hair to frame your face in the same way that long hair does and makes you look slimmer by elongating your face. Add wispy bangs to your do, rather than heavy or blunt bangs. The blunter the bangs the more your face will look rounder.
Color your hair darker around your face.
"Lighter tones open up the face, making it appear wider, while darker tones are slimming," says Dubre. So keep the strands closest to your face a shade or two darker than the others, he suggests.
"If you have a longer face, a middle parting can accentuate it - long sections at the front will make your face look longer. Sometimes flicking hair over to one side helps to break up the proportions of the face, creating a more youthful look."
Long hair is perfect and universally flattering on round faces because it lengthens the face. If you have a round face, your ideal cut will fall a few inches below the chin or longer. The shortest layer should never be above your earlobe; this can also make a style look dated, and no one wants that!
Caramel, honey, gold, copper, and strawberry give a healthy brightness that makes us look and feel younger. (Framing your face with lighter shades draws the eye away from any complexion concerns, as well.)
A chin-length cut is perfect for slimming your face. Having the longest stands around your face will make your face appear slimmer. Short hair for round chubby faces work well when there is volume and body to visually elongate your face.
Quite often, you'll hear beauty advice that says women with round faces should not wear their hair short. That's simply not true. You can wear short hair no matter the shape of your face; you just want to make sure to find the right cut and style.
Blonde Highlights
So getting a lighter color of highlights on your hair can give the illusion of thickness and volume which in turn can give the illusion of having a slimmer face. I would suggest going for blonde hair highlights only if you have light brunette or dark blonde hair as this will make it look natural.
If you have a round-shaped face, having a ponytail that's placed high on your head will give the illusion of a more elongated face. To take the look up a notch, add some volume to your crown and wear a middle part or with a few loose strands to lengthen your face even more.
' Basically, as your skin tone lightens with age, so should your hair colour. 'When you first notice white hairs, ask your hairdresser to blend them, and eventually you'll move to a lighter natural colour' explains Ashleigh.
Generally, these colours will make anyone appear older: black, cool dark brown, fiery red, yellow blonde, mousy blonde and dark grey. There's a common opinion that platinum blonde and silver hair dye age you, but we don't believe so.
Apply retinol (Vitamin A) moisturizer, such as Wrinkle Recovery Serum. Use a high-quality Neck Restoring Cream for skin tightening. Be vigilant about using natural sunscreen, and avoid being outside during the time of day when the sun is most direct.
A good guide to the length is it should be about 1 ½ times longer than the width of your face. Frame the Face. Instead of a blunt cut, make sure your long hair creates a subtle framing of the face. It creates a focal point into the center of your face which is slimming.
What hair length is best for chubby cheeks? To make your face looks longer—a long bob or lob, below the jaw is ideal haircut for chubby face because it helps to frame your face, make you face look thinner. Choosing a hair cut that falls over the cheek and bordering close to the chin also helps the face to look longer.
The Chin and Jaw
Your chin and jaw are no match for the perfect storm of aging. As fat drifts down from the rest of your face and gathers under your chin and along your jaw, there's less collagen and elastin to keep the skin taut. At the same time, the neck muscles begin to sag and drag the skin down with it.
High Cheekbones
Simply put, prominent cheekbones + fewer sagging jowls = a younger look.
They're the result of facial muscles continually tugging on, and eventually creasing, the skin. Other folds may get deeper because of the way fat decreases and moves around. Finer wrinkles are due to sun damage, smoking, and natural degeneration of elements of the skin that keep it thick and supple.
To add shadows that create a slimming affect on your face, grab a contour cream or powder that is two times darker than your skin tone (preferably a matte shade). This will give you a more natural look. Apply to the hollows of your cheeks by drawing a line from your ear to the center of your cheek.
"Lighter tones of colour should be applied around the hairline" Marc says, while "darker or richer tones are applied to the hair underneath the ears and the lower ends of the hair around the face".
